Zoomlion's First Articulated Crane from Germany Enhances Its European Localization Strategy

Zoomlion's New Era in European Manufacturing

On September 12, 2025, in a significant move for its European strategy, Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology Co., Ltd. successfully deployed and delivered its first articulated crane from its Wilbert manufacturing facility in Germany. This delivery marks a noteworthy milestone in the company’s ongoing efforts to enhance its presence across the European market.

The newly delivered ZLK7600V803 articulated crane is a culmination of integrating Zoomlion's advanced technology with local European manufacturing capabilities. Built on a locally-sourced Scania chassis, the crane adheres to CE certification standards and complies with stringent European road transport regulations. Designed to withstand demanding European operational conditions, it provides exceptional lifting performance, high reliability, and a favorable cost-performance ratio, ensuring its versatility for lifting and handling tasks throughout the continent.

The delivery has been warmly received by a Slovak customer, who highlighted that this crane symbolizes three decades of fruitful commercial cooperation between Slovakia and China. According to the client, expanding their partnership with Zoomlion in the crane sector not only enhances their operational fleet but also signifies a significant progression in their long-term collaboration.

Acquired by Zoomlion in 2018, the Wilbert manufacturing facility has transformed from a sole-purpose tower crane manufacturer into a multi-category industrial base producing tower cranes, concrete machinery, and mobile cranes. This transformation is at the core of Zoomlion's strategy to build a comprehensive European production network. Earlier this year, the company commenced the second phase of its factory in Waldlaubersheim, while also inaugurating a new elevating platform factory in Hungary. These projects are aimed at establishing an integrated center for showcasing, selling, manufacturing, and servicing products in Europe, thereby enhancing supply chain efficiency and responsiveness to local markets.

Zoomlion's investment in Germany has received acknowledgment from local leaders. During the inauguration of the second phase of the factory, Dr. Joe Weingarten, a member of the German Bundestag, remarked that the project exemplifies the deepening economic cooperation between China and Germany. He emphasized the region's supportive infrastructure, skilled workforce, and robust technical foundation, highlighting the potential for mutual success.

With 13 research and development and manufacturing bases globally, and operations spanning over 170 countries and regions, Zoomlion is committed to marrying local manufacturing with global expertise. The company plans to continue broadening its European product portfolio and improving service responsiveness, solidifying its status as a world leader in smart equipment manufacturing.
