MOLDINO Introduces New Inserts for TA4F High Feed Tool



MOLDINO, headquartered in Sumida, Tokyo, is set to expand its product lineup by launching new inserts for the Alpha High Feed Radius Mill, known as the TR4F, on June 20, 2025. The TR4F, which was initially released in April 2020, has been widely appreciated in the machining industry due to its exceptional capabilities in rough machining applications. In response to strong market demands and the desire to further enhance efficiency, MOLDINO has developed additional features designed to solve previously encountered challenges.

Development Background


The TR4F was created with the intention of establishing a benchmark for high-efficiency rough machining tools. Since its debut, the tool has undergone numerous advancements, each underscoring its competitive edge. However, the product faced issues wherein the insert's edge strength was improved, inadvertently increasing the main spindle load of the machines it's used in, especially when cutting softer materials like mild steel and cast iron. These materials exhibited high cutting resistance compared to similar products, restricting the TR4F from demonstrating its full range of capabilities.

To remedy this, MOLDINO has designed a new insert featuring a low-resistance shape known as the LF Breaker along with a novel insert material type JS4160, tailored specifically for efficient machining of mild steel and carbon steel. This development is pivotal not only for enhancing productivity but also for addressing customer needs for better performance.

  • - Ideal for Softer Materials: Particularly suitable for SS, SC, and SCM materials, it facilitates stable processing in cases where material hardness is below 35 HRC, along with compatibility for wet machining processes.
