Saudi Arabia Takes Center Stage at WTM 2025 Showcasing Events and Iconic Destinations

Saudi Arabia made a remarkable entrance on the opening day of the World Travel Market (WTM) 2025, presenting its ambitious vision for tourism through the Saudi Tourism Authority (STA) and its 71 partners. The "Saudi Land" pavilion showcased a stunning array of attractions, promoting the nation's unrivaled travel experiences and opportunities.

With a record of 116 million visitors in 2024 and an impressive 60.9 million in just the first half of 2025, Saudi Arabia is positioning itself as one of the fastest-growing travel destinations in the world. The STA displayed an immersive experience at WTM, inviting global tourism professionals to tap into this vibrant market.

The pavilion featured a series of celebrated events compiled in what is known as the Unreal Calendar, incorporating world-renowned happenings such as Formula 1 racing, MDLBEAST Soundstorm, Italian and Spanish Super Cups, and the WWE Royal Rumble. These attractions were brought to life through an engaging campaign featuring global icon Cristiano Ronaldo, ensuring that Saudi Arabia's offerings are seen as both exciting and accessible.

Visitors to the "Saudi Land" pavilion experienced a blend of cultural heritage and modern tourism, with highlights including the pristine Red Sea coast, the ancient wonders of AlUla, and the vibrant city life in Riyadh and Jeddah. New luxury experiences were also announced, with Shura Island and the launch of Six Flags Qiddiya City illustrating Saudi Arabia’s commitment to hospitality and innovation.

Abdullah Alhagbani, STA's Partnerships and Regulatory Affairs Manager, expressed enthusiasm about expanding partnerships at WTM. He noted, "We are thrilled to welcome our esteemed partners and guests from around the globe to discover Saudi Land as we continue our extraordinary growth. At this year's WTM, we welcomed 71 partners and scheduled close to 500 meetings with industry leaders to deepen collaborations and unlock new partnership opportunities."

With over 1,000 event dates in the previous year, the STA is determined to enhance its Unreal Calendar further in 2025. Saudi Arabia's emblematic destinations from Riyadh to Jeddah, AlUla, and the Red Sea are highlighted as unique avenues for innovative partnerships and shared growth.

A significant highlight of the WTM was the signing of strategic partnerships. More than nine memorandums of understanding were executed at the Saudi Land pavilion with valuable global travel and hospitality brands. Seven of these agreements were finalized by prominent Saudi tourism partners, alongside two MOUs made between STA and major international travel entities like Saudia Holidays and TUI Group.

Interactive experiences drew visitors to explore various Saudi destinations through immersive displays, allowing them to engage with unique packages while discovering the Unreal Calendar and local cultural showcases. Sporting activities featuring Cristiano Ronaldo further enriched the visitor experience, underscoring the allure of Saudi Arabia's tourism landscape.

The WTM 2025 provided Saudi Arabia and its tourism partners with an unparalleled opportunity to forge new relationships. It also highlighted the exciting possibilities emerging from the rapidly evolving tourism landscape within the country, strengthening its reputation as a premier destination for travelers, investors, and global industry partners.
