Experience Collaboration Between Reality and Virtual at Shibuya Music Festival 2025
The highly anticipated 20th Shibuya Music Festival (Shibuya Music Scramble) will take place on October 18 and 19, 2025. The event promises an exciting collaboration between the popular anime "Yoru no Kurage wa Oyenai" (Night Jellyfish Can't Swim) and a creative platform that lets participants enjoy an immersive experience straddling both reality and the digital realm. This ambitious project is organized by the Shibuya Music Festival Executive Committee and supported by the Shibuya Ward Government and the Shibuya Tourism Association, along with other partners.
Event Highlights
Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd. (DNP), in collaboration with several leading organizations including King Records, Shibuya Future Design, Mitsubishi Estate, and STYLY, will facilitate an event where participants can seamlessly communicate in both real and virtual environments. Here’s what you can expect:
1. Collaborative Aquarium Creation
Emphasizing the theme of "Everyone Creates an Aquarium," participants in the real venue and those in the virtual space will interact and draw illustrations or messages on electronic whiteboards. These contributions will then be displayed in the virtual environment. An electronic whiteboard will be established at Miyashita Park, where attendees can add their doodles directly. This content will then transfer to the virtual environment, where a corresponding virtual whiteboard mirrors its real-world counterpart, making it possible to create a collaborative aquarium that transcends the boundaries between real and virtual spaces.
2. Virtual Exhibition of 'Yoru no Kurage wa Oyenai'
While navigating through the Virtual Miyashita Park, attendees will find themselves in a unique ecosystem, visualized to resemble an aquarium. Participants will don avatars inspired by jellyfish, creating an engaging connection to the aquatic world. Additionally, the festival's atmosphere will feature music composed by 'JELEE,' enhancing the experience with an audiovisual display showcasing anime promotional videos and music videos.
