Sky Labs Secures Investment from OMRON Ventures for Global Expansion

On November 4, 2025, Sky Labs made an exciting announcement regarding its future growth trajectory. The company has successfully secured investments from OMRON Ventures, a corporate venture capital arm of the Omron Group based in Minato-ku, Tokyo. This strategic partnership goes beyond mere financial investment; it aims to enhance Sky Labs' global business expansion and strengthen its market presence in the healthcare sector.

In a fascinating development, Sky Labs has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with OMRON Healthcare Co., Ltd., a global leader in blood pressure monitoring. This collaboration signifies a significant leap in their ongoing alliance, a move aimed at complementing their strategic growth initiatives.

The catalyst behind this partnership is Sky Labs' groundbreaking device, "CART BP," which has garnered attention for its innovative approach to blood pressure monitoring. The device is capable of measuring blood pressure continuously, even during one's sleep, paving the way for innovative uses in chronic disease prevention. This successful technology is being recognized for its potential to contribute significantly to global healthcare solutions, especially in managing chronic diseases.

Previously, in 2024, Sky Labs and OMRON had signed an MOU to facilitate the global distribution and commercial development of the CART BP device, which is devoid of the traditional cuff seen in blood pressure monitors. The main advantageous feature of the "CART BP" is its all-day and night monitoring capabilities, allowing users to track changes in their blood pressure trends without the need for clinic visits. This easy-to-use device is becoming increasingly popular, as it provides insightful data for managing cardiovascular health.

OMRON Healthcare has established itself as a leading manufacturer in the medical devices industry, providing blood pressure monitors and cardiovascular control solutions in over 130 countries worldwide. The achievement is reflected in their impressive statistics, with global sales of blood pressure monitors exceeding 400 million units by 2025. Through partnerships with innovative companies like Sky Labs, OMRON continues to develop advanced products aimed at ensuring precise and continuous monitoring of blood pressure at home.

Jack Byunghwan Lee, CEO of Sky Labs, expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration, highlighting that this strategic alliance not only showcases Sky Labs’ technology equipped with clinical efficacy and commercial viability but also emphasizes their commitment to leading innovation in global health markets. "We will drive the expansion of chronic disease management along with OMRON Healthcare, a pioneer in blood pressure monitoring," Lee said.

Since its establishment in September 2015, Sky Labs has been at the forefront of developing health technology, notably creating the CART (Cardio Tracker)—a device designed for chronic disease monitoring via cardiac signals captured by optical sensors. This visionary company has been making gradual strides in commercializing its innovative products and recently secured an exclusive distribution agreement for the CART BP device in South Korea with Daewoong Pharmaceutical.

The demand for health wearables like the CART BP is increasingly soaring, especially as consumers are becoming more health-conscious in the wake of the ongoing pandemic. As Sky Labs continues to prepare for nationwide commercialization of its revolutionary health technology in hospitals and clinics, the future looks bright for both the company and its strategic partnerships in advancing healthcare solutions worldwide.

With technology advancing rapidly in the health sector, collaborations like the one between Sky Labs and OMRON are pivotal, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in health monitoring and disease prevention. As we look ahead, both companies are poised to make a significant impact in helping people manage their health more effectively.
