A groundbreaking report from Sunlight.com reveals that weight loss achieved through GLP-1 medications is doing much more than just improving health. For many Americans, it's also sparking positive changes in their professional and social lives. A survey conducted in October 2025 with 984 users of GLP-1 medications has shown that a significant 41% attribute their recent career advancements to their weight loss journey.

The results of the survey highlight a remarkable psychological transformation among those undergoing treatment. A vast majority—91% of respondents—report feeling more confident in their workplace since starting on GLP-1 medications. This newfound confidence is reflected not only in how they view themselves but also in how they are perceived by their colleagues and supervisors. Notably, 64% feel a greater sense of respect and inclusion, and 52% have observed an increase in recognition from leadership. Furthermore, more than one-third of participants (36%) have encountered new job opportunities as a direct result of their weight loss.

Among those who experienced salary increases following their weight loss, the figures are telling. Approximately 36% noted a pay raise between 5% to 10%, while 31% reported increases ranging from 11% to 15%. Importantly, 20% of participants enjoyed raises of 15% or more.

Enhanced Treatment from Peers

The benefits of weight loss extend beyond monetary gains. A striking seven out of ten GLP-1 users report being treated better in various social contexts since they lost weight. This improvement in treatment spans across multiple groups—39% have felt a positive change from coworkers, 28% from managers, and 36% from friends and family. Almost half of the respondents (46%) also mentioned that strangers treat them more kindly, and 17% observed an uptick in invitations to social events. One respondent reflected, "It's amazing how much more comfortable people are around me now. The shift is noticeable, both among friends and even people I've just met."

Another participant noted, "Losing weight has led to more respect from those around me. My colleagues appear more inclined to hear my ideas and include me in crucial discussions."

Positive Social Transformations for Singles

The survey also examined the dating landscape for single GLP-1 users. Among this group, 83% actively use dating apps, with 80% noting an increase in likes and matches since their weight loss. This observation resonates with the idea that weight loss can rejuvenate one’s confidence, particularly when entering romantic avenues.

Boosted Self-Image Among GLP-1 Users

The benefits of GLP-1 medications extend to self-perception as well. An impressive 86% of users feel that their self-image has improved since shedding weight. Additional insights reveal that 66% feel more comfortable in their skin, 58% report elevated confidence levels, 45% see themselves as more attractive, and 41% view themselves as more capable. Dr. Tran emphasizes the significance of confidence, stating, "The internal changes brought about by GLP-1 medications help individuals not only in losing weight but also in believing more in themselves, nurturing stronger relationships, and tackling challenges positively."

Survey Methodology

This insightful survey was commissioned by Sunlight.com and executed via Pollfish in October 2025, focusing on 984 U.S. adults aged 18 years and above who are current GLP-1 users and have noted weight loss since their treatment began.
