Enfinity Global Partners with VW Kraftwerk GmbH to Supply Renewable Energy Guarantees for Sustainable Mobility
Enfinity Global, a key player in renewable energy, has announced a significant partnership with VW Kraftwerk GmbH, a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group. This agreement, which was officially signed on October 30, 2025, involves the provision of approximately 400 GWh of Guarantees of Origin (GOs) over the next decade, supporting the shift towards sustainable mobility in Europe.
The deal entails the annual supply of about 40 GWh of GOs from Enfinity's solar photovoltaic plants located in Italy. These Guarantees of Origin serve as a certification that the energy supplied was generated from renewable sources, thus playing a crucial role in reducing the CO₂ emissions associated with the lifecycle of electric vehicles.
Carlos Domenech, the CEO of Enfinity Global, expressed pride in contributing to the Volkswagen Group's strategy for achieving carbon neutrality within its electric vehicle fleet. He stated, "This agreement illustrates Enfinity's commitment to long-term partnerships aimed at providing innovative and scalable energy solutions. Our services span from Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) to Guarantees of Origin, all designed to add significant value to our clients' operations."
Julio Fournier Fisas, General Director for Europe at Enfinity Global, elaborated on the importance of the Guarantees of Origin, emphasizing their role in fostering transparency and promoting the adoption of renewable energy. He remarked, "This collaboration exemplifies how cross-sector partnerships can generate measurable environmental impacts, propelling forward the efforts toward climate neutrality in Europe."
Through this strategic partnership, Enfinity Global positions itself as a vital ally for global corporations seeking to embrace renewable energy solutions in their operations. The company is actively contributing to the decarbonization of industrial supply chains while striving to create a more resilient, low-carbon energy future.
The Guarantees of Origin not only corroborate the renewable origin of energy but also play an integral part in the traceability and ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) reporting in alignment with European regulations and sustainability standards.
Enfinity Global boasts a comprehensive portfolio of more than 37 GW of renewable energy projects worldwide. With a significant presence in Italy, the company operates solar photovoltaic plants and battery storage systems amounting to over 8.6 GW. These efforts feed directly into the broader objectives of decarbonization and energy security, not only for Italy but for the European Union as a whole.
As the urgency for sustainable solutions continues to rise, partnerships like that of Enfinity Global and VW Kraftwerk GmbH will be crucial in facilitating the transformative journey towards greener mobility. By leveraging renewable energy sources, these companies are paving the way for a sustainable future, highlighting the potential for collective action in tackling climate change.
Potential implications of this agreement may resonate beyond just the automotive sector, potentially influencing broader industries to commit to similar endeavors. The proactive integration of renewable energy strategies marks a pivotal advancement toward a sustainable and eco-friendly operational paradigm, marking a new era in industrial practices.
