West Tennessee Bank Commences Construction of New Germantown Branch Location
West Tennessee Bank Breaks New Ground in Germantown
On July 7, West Tennessee Bank took a significant step forward by breaking ground on its new branch in Germantown. This development signifies a pivotal moment in the bank's expansion efforts within Shelby County. Wendy Percoski, the community president for the bank’s Germantown operation, expressed enthusiasm, stating, "We are so excited to be planting roots here in this community."
The bank, which has a long history dating back to 1899, first entered the Shelby County market in 2022 with a loan production office. Following its initial success, it opened a full-service branch in Germantown in 2024. In April 2025, the bank acquired new property to establish a permanent location to better serve its clientele.
Branch Features and Accessibility
The new facility, to be situated at 7707 Wolf River Circle, is designed with customer convenience at its core. It will include extra-wide drive-thru lanes, 24-hour ATM access, and multiple entrances to enhance accessibility. In addition, the new branch will cater to commercial, mortgage, and wealth management lending with its executive office space.
The current branch at 7505 Capitol Drive will continue operations until the new facility is fully operational. Mike Edwards, the Shelby County Chairman of West Tennessee Bank, highlighted an essential aspect of their mission: community service. Edwards stated, "West Tennessee Bank is unique because we are a Community Development Financial Institution, which means we’re more focused on the needs of the people we serve."
Commitment to Community and Personalized Service
West Tennessee Bank aims to transcend traditional banking services by investing time and resources in enhancing community welfare. Percoski emphasized the importance of building respectful relationships with local businesses, expressing that, “Our goal is to provide the same level of customer service whether someone needs a $50,000 line of credit or a $5 million loan.” This culture of personal attention sets the bank apart, aiming to treat every customer, whether they are individuals or large corporations, with the utmost respect and care.
The new Germantown branch is strategically located to serve not only the Germantown area but also surrounding communities including East Memphis, Cordova, Bartlett, and Collierville. The location was selected for its central access and proximity to an emerging medical and professional district in the vicinity.
Support for Education and Local Initiatives
In its journey in Shelby County, West Tennessee Bank has been actively involved in supporting local schools, organizations, and leadership initiatives. This includes sponsorships within the Germantown Municipal School District and providing scholarships to graduating students, thereby investing in the future of the community.
Germantown Vice Mayor Mary Anne Gibson welcomed the bank’s commitment, noting its tradition of supportive engagement. Gibson remarked, "West Tennessee Bank has a rich tradition of supporting the communities it serves. They plant deep roots, and I fully expect them to do the same here in Germantown."
A Bright Future Ahead
The groundbreaking ceremony concluded with remarks from bank leaders and local officials, followed by a blessing from Father Joe Sax. Attendees included representatives from other West Tennessee Bank branches as well as members of the Germantown Chamber of Commerce, showcasing the collective investment in community development.
The establishment of this new branch marks another milestone in West Tennessee Bank’s ongoing commitment to strengthening the local economy and offering personalized financial services to families, individuals, and businesses across the greater Memphis area.
