Nonprofit Organization Collable Unveils New Logo and Website to Reflect Modern Endeavors

Collable Unveils New Logo and Website

Collable, a nonprofit organization dedicated to inclusive design and facilitation, has refreshed its logo and official website as of July 15, 2026. Established over a decade ago in Bunkyo City, Tokyo, and led by director Sayuri Yamada, the organization's recent changes aim to more accurately convey its current business activities and aspirations.

Evolution of Collable

When Collable was founded, the concept of inclusive design was not commonly recognized. The organization's initial focus was on organizing workshops that allowed children, regardless of disabilities, to participate and engage together. The previous logo reflected this philosophy, designed to be approachable and friendly, especially for children and participants.

Over the years, Collable has expanded its scope of activities. Now, its projects involve partnerships with companies, local governments, and cultural institutions, focusing on inclusive design, web accessibility, and the practice and dissemination of inclusive facilitation. Today, Collable's expertise lies not just in bringing diverse people together, but in designing environments—spaces, processes, and information—that enable people from various backgrounds to engage in meaningful exchanges and collaborative thinking.

With this evolution in mind, Collable has revitalized both its logo and website while retaining the core values that have guided its mission.

Significance of the New Logo

The redesigned logo embodies the spirit of "creating together," reflecting Collable's commitment to designing environments and processes that promote participation among diverse individuals. While the term "inclusive" often evokes feelings of kindness and empathy, Collable’s work focuses on specifically designing frameworks that allow for genuine participation through research, dialogue, and practical implementation. The new logo is intended to communicate this specialized approach and philosophy effectively.

In both the old and new logos, three lowercase 'l's are prominent. The previous logo anthropomorphized these 'l's by adding faces, symbolizing the closeness of diverse individuals. In the new design, this face motif has been removed, with all three 'l's aligned in form, maintaining a looped connection that signifies the idea of being together, even when physically apart.

The color scheme of the new logo evolves from the previous design but is adjusted to align with the organization's current activities. The flowing letterforms, created with a continuous line, aim to express Collable’s values and philosophies more dynamically, allowing them to reach a broader audience.

The logo design was crafted by designer Kota Abe, who also provided guidance on the website’s visual aspects and created some of its graphics.

New Website Features

The newly launched website is designed to communicate the current activities and expertise of Collable clearly while fostering pathways for consultation and collaboration. The website underwent a comprehensive redesign in terms of information structure and visual presentation to achieve these goals:

1. Reorganized Business Information: The current business activities are categorized into three main areas: design research and consulting, training programs, and research. The structure showcases how inclusive design and facilitation are implemented in various projects, clearly outlining the issues that potential clients can seek assistance with and at what stages Collable can engage in the projects.

2. Articulating Collable’s Philosophy and Expertise: The section about Collable has been significantly expanded to introduce the social issues the organization tackles, alongside its unique approach encapsulated in the phrase "from for, to with." The organization outlines its viewpoint on inclusive design and facilitation based on past practices, detailing the transformations it aims to create through its projects.

3. Visualizing Past Achievements and Collaborations: The organizational overview page showcases the companies, local governments, cultural institutions, educational, research entities, and NGOs that Collable has collaborated with over time, presenting the breadth of its activities and highlighting collaborative efforts across various sectors.

Director Sayuri Yamada’s Insights

Sayuri Yamada emphasizes that Collable has always valued the guiding philosophy of "from for, to with," stating, “While the content of our activities and the individuals involved have evolved, our commitment to thinking and creating together with diverse stakeholders remains steadfast. The recent revamp is not merely a facelift; it is a reflection on our accumulated expertise and practices, through which we can articulate our current identity. We hope the new logo and website will effectively communicate our present standing to all who have been involved with us and facilitate new dialogues and collaborations.”
