Santa Clara Family Health Plan Welcomes Manish Nautiyal as New CIO to Enhance IT Strategy

Santa Clara Family Health Plan Welcomes New CIO

Santa Clara Family Health Plan (SCFHP) is excited to announce the appointment of Manish Nautiyal as its newest Chief Information Officer (CIO), effective February 24, 2025. With a robust background in healthcare technology and over 22 years of experience, Nautiyal is poised to lead SCFHP's Information Technology (IT) department into a new era of innovation and efficiency.

A New Vision for Health Tech

Nautiyal, known for his expertise in software engineering and IT strategy, will oversee various facets of the IT infrastructure, including applications, telecommunications, and software development. His leadership is expected to play a crucial role in aligning SCFHP’s IT operations with its overarching goal of promoting health for all. As part of the Executive Team, he plans to engage with senior management to refine IT processes and bolster service delivery for both members and the wider community.

"I am thrilled to join the SCFHP team and am eager to contribute to its mission by serving both the members and the community," Nautiyal expressed as he accepted his new role. His leadership style emphasizes collaboration and operational excellence—the very principles that SCFHP stands for.

Proven Track Record

Before taking the helm at SCFHP, Nautiyal was the Senior Vice President of IT development and infrastructure at Beacon Healthcare Systems in Huntington Beach, California. There, he led key technological initiatives aimed at enhancing the experiences of health plan members through innovative solutions. His prior tenures at Molina Healthcare further solidified his reputation as a leader in health technology, where he managed significant IT projects and fostered an environment of team excellence.

His academic credentials are equally impressive. Nautiyal holds a bachelor's degree in engineering with a specialization in computer science from Agra University. His extensive knowledge encompasses various areas of healthcare technology, such as implementing artificial intelligence solutions and managing HITRUST certification processes.

Transition of Leadership

Nautiyal steps into this role following the retirement of Jonathan Tamayo, who held the CIO position since 2015. Under Tamayo's guidance, the SCFHP IT department successfully navigated substantial challenges, including the transition to remote work during the pandemic. This transition was pivotal in ensuring that SCFHP maintained consistent and reliable health services during a critical time.

Christine M. Tomcala, CEO of SCFHP, expressed confidence in Nautiyal's ability to enhance the organization's technological strategies: "Since announcing our executive search for a new CIO in November, we focused on finding a leader who could build upon Jonathan's robust foundation to drive our technology strategy forward." Tomcala further acknowledged the invaluable contributions made by Tamayo, who significantly improved SCFHP’s IT operations and contributed to the community over his decade-long career.

Commitment to the Community

Santa Clara Family Health Plan has dedicated itself to improving health outcomes and facilitating access to quality healthcare for everyone in Santa Clara County since 1997. Now, with Nautiyal at the forefront of the IT department, SCFHP aims to further solidify its commitment to innovation and high-quality health services. Serving over 290,000 people through its Medi-Cal and Medicare programs, SCFHP operates with the core values of integrity and outstanding service.
