Exciting New Updates for Borderlands 4 Coming Soon!
On June 25, 2K Games and Gearbox Software are set to release an exciting update for "Borderlands 4" that includes the much-anticipated free endgame raid, "Hadron Abyss Takedown," and the paid DLC, "Wanted Pack 3: Hot Dads, In Zane's Name." This update, version 1.8, will also introduce cross-platform save functionality, allowing players to seamlessly transition their Vault Hunter adventures across different platforms.
What’s Included in Wanted Pack 3
The "Wanted Pack 3: Hot Dads, In Zane's Name" comes with fresh story content and high-tier loot, featuring two distinct sections: the new story content and "Wanted Pack 3: Vault Card 3." Both can be purchased separately, providing players flexibility in their gaming experience.
In this engaging new mission, players will delve into an arcade-themed mystery to track down the culprit responsible for the demise of Zane's digital clone backup. This repeatable mission introduces a new boss along with two mini-bosses, ensuring that every gameplay session offers new challenges and excitement.
In addition to the thrilling storyline, Vault Card 3 offers arcade-themed rewards, including 24 types of customizable items and four re-rollable gear options that players can unlock as they progress.
Free Endgame Raid: Hadron Abyss Takedown
The "Hadron Abyss Takedown" is an endgame challenge available for free to all players. After finishing the main story, players can access this raid from the main hub's raid board. Set in an underwater research station filled with mutated horrors and formidable aquatic predators, players will need to test their builds and skills to outlast the challenges that await.
At the end of this new area, players will square off against the ultimate boss, "Son of Teramorphus." The difficulty of enemies adapts to the size of the party, but for those craving a tough challenge, a Mayhem level and a Hardcore mode, where players cannot be allowed to die once, will be available.
Defeating Teramorphus's Son and mini-bosses will reward players with exciting new loot, including one new pearlescent weapon, nine legendary gear pieces, and five class mods specific to each Vault Hunter. As the game progresses, there will be additions, including a unique class mod for the sixth Vault Hunter set to join the fray in Story Pack 2, slated for release in Q3 2026.
What’s Next?
Looking ahead, more thrilling content will roll out shortly after. On July 30, version 1.9 will introduce "Wanted Pack 4: Blood-Soaked Takeover" and in early September, we can expect "Wanted Pack 5" and Story Pack 2. This forthcoming Story Pack will unveil the sixth playable Vault Hunter, "Loveless the Hacker," who was recently revealed in the latest DevCast.
Loveless is an ex-hacker turned assassin, equipped with cutting-edge cybernetics that allow her to share her mind with a digital virus she created. This virus can physically manifest and act according to her will, adding a unique gameplay dynamic.
Stay tuned for more information on Loveless and Story Pack 2 as it develops!
Players who own the "Borderlands 4: Super Deluxe Edition" will gain access to the entire content package of the Wanted Packs (2, 3, 4, 5) and Vault Hunter Packs (Story Pack 1, 2).
