Aderans and the Focus on Appearance Care at the 33rd Japanese Breast Cancer Society Conference

Aderans Co., Ltd., located in Shinagawa, Tokyo, is a leading player in the wellness industry, focusing on hair, beauty, health, and medical care. From July 10 to 12, Aderans will exhibit at the 33rd Annual Japanese Breast Cancer Society Conference held at Keio Plaza Hotel and Kogakuin University Shinjuku Campus.

This year’s conference features a hybrid model, combining in-person and online participation, excluding some sessions. The theme, “Bridging Across the Pacific: Differences Between Asia and the West,” aims to benefit breast cancer patients worldwide. With an expected attendance of around 6,000 participants, the conference will include diverse programs addressing key issues surrounding breast cancer treatment and care.

Aderans is stepping up to support those affected by changes in appearance due to breast cancer treatments. The company is dedicated to providing solutions through the development of medical wigs and the sale of appearance care products. At their booth, Aderans will introduce visitors to medical wigs such as TEAM Rafra, scalp care lotion HairRepro MEDIα, and hats designed for use during hair loss.

Aderans’ Contribution to Medical Wigs

The company formed a committee in 2013 to create a draft for Japan Industrial Standards (JIS) regarding medical wigs, and has fully supported the effort towards standardization. The JIS standards for medical wigs were established in 2015, allowing products meeting these criteria to display the JIS mark, indicating their reliability and safety. Aderans remains committed to enhancing the quality of medical wigs to better serve patients and healthcare professionals alike.

Development of In-Hospital Hair Salons

Since 2002, Aderans has expanded its in-hospital hair salons, now operating 35 locations across Japan. These salons provide comprehensive support for individuals experiencing hair loss due to chemotherapy, offering consultations, wig provision, aftercare, and beauty services, thus wrapping their services in a one-stop care model.

Patients undergoing treatment, as well as their families and hospital staff, can benefit from these services designed to enhance the quality of life during treatment phases. Feedback from patients and healthcare workers has directly influenced the development of Aderans’ medical wigs, ensuring that their products meet the real needs of users.

Aderans’ commitment to quality and patient care reaffirms its position as an industry leader in appearance support for those facing changes due to medical conditions. As they participate in this significant conference, they exemplify what it means to prioritize wellness and dignity in appearance during times of medical hardship.
