MediThinQ Partners with Sinopharm to Launch Wearable Surgical Displays in China
MediThinQ Enters China Through Strategic Partnership with Sinopharm
MediThinQ, a South Korean innovator in extended reality (XR) surgical displays, has made a significant move into China by forming a strategic partnership with Sinopharm, a leading state-owned healthcare entity in China. This collaboration not only grants MediThinQ access to one of the largest healthcare markets globally but also ensures that its flagship product, Scopeye, will reach major hospitals across China.
Transforming Surgical Practices
The introduction of Scopeye, which provides real-time, high-definition visualization during surgeries, radically alters how surgeons receive critical information. By delivering data and images directly to surgeons' eyes, these wearable devices enhance focus and precision—essential components of successful surgical outcomes. With approvals from the US, Europe, and South Korea, MediThinQ's technology is deemed groundbreaking, with over 10,000 successful tests and live demonstrations in hospitals worldwide.
A remarkable milestone in MediThinQ's progression was achieved through a previous exclusive distribution agreement with a prominent global med tech company, first established in the US and later extended to Europe. This partnership with Sinopharm represents the final crucial element in MediThinQ's strategy to build a strong presence in the global healthcare market.
Seungjoon Im, the Founder and CEO of MediThinQ, expressed enthusiasm about collaborating with Sinopharm, stating, "We are excited to introduce this revolutionary technology to surgeons in China and foster its widespread acceptance. Our journey in China has just begun, and we look forward to bringing innovation to the market through our partnership."
Sinopharm’s Chairman, Wang Yiran, emphasized the significance of this technological advancement. He remarked, "The adoption of wearable surgical displays is transitioning from being a novelty to a new standard in modern surgery. This innovation is set to enhance the ergonomics for healthcare professionals, boost operational efficiency in operating rooms, and fundamentally transform surgical education and training."

MediThinQ’s advancements are underpinned by continuous research and development breakthroughs, including innovations such as the world’s smallest portable 3D microscope and a next-generation digital loupe. The recent completion of an $8.8 million Series B funding round fuels further innovation and expansion.
The partnership with Sinopharm not only fortifies MediThinQ's position in China but also marks a pivotal milestone in its global assimilation, ensuring that cutting-edge medical technology is more widely accessible.
