English Edition of 'Blood Type and Human Nature' Released

The Human Science ABO Center, representing Chieko Ichikawa from Chuo, Tokyo, has launched the English version of the renowned bestseller 'Blood Type and Human Nature' globally. This exciting announcement marks the series, which has sold over 6 million copies, making its first foray into the English-speaking world, set for release on January 7, 2026. As part of the celebration, a free giveaway campaign will also be held.

Overview of the English Edition

The first book in the series, 'Blood Type and Human Nature', authored by Masahiko Nomi and translated by Qinglai Meng, is now available for purchase on Amazon for 3,300 yen. This work is an ambitious endeavor that reflects on the resounding interest generated from Nomi's debut book, 'Understanding Relationships through Blood Types'. The book compiles findings from analyzing the blood types of 100,000 individuals and feedback from a survey of 30,000 respondents, introducing 'Blood Type Human Science' as a new academic field.

Nomi’s research emphasizes the scientific necessity of the relationship between blood types and personality, making this the first official English version of a work that has greatly influenced Japan and Asia. It provides a concise summary of the characteristics of each blood type and their implications on interpersonal relationships, helping readers reflect on their interactions with themselves and those around them.

Introduction by the Translator

As history has shown, the words ‘impossible’ have often been challenged. Concepts once deemed false, such as 'the earth must not be round', have been overturned over time. This reflects the journey that Nomi’s work embarks on, moving beyond mere readings to delve into cultural significance as well.

The Impact of Nomi's Work

For decades, Nomi's influential writings on blood types and personality traits have facilitated conversations across Japan and Asia. Until now, the English-speaking audience has lacked access to his original work. 'Blood Type and Human Nature' explores the correlation between ABO blood types (O, A, B, AB) and varied temperaments, thought patterns, and behavioral trends, asserting how these traits interact with environmental, cultural, and life experiences to shape personality.

Based on decades of observation, case studies, and empirical data, Nomi challenges traditional approaches to understanding personality and humanity. This inaugural English translation preserves the clarity, nuance, and originality of his 1980 classic, inviting a new global readership to reconsider what truly defines human identity.
