Mark Webster Takes the Helm as CEO of Stream Systems to Propel Electronic Trading Forward
Stream Systems Names Mark Webster as New CEO
In an impactful personnel change, Stream Systems LLC has announced the appointment of Mark Webster as its Chief Executive Officer, effective April 28, 2025. This strategic move aims to position the company at the forefront of the electronic trading landscape for foreign exchange options and swaps.
Webster's predecessor, Founder Michael Cammarata, will continue to guide the company as Executive Chairman of the Board while overseeing Trading and Brokerage Services. This transition appears to be part of a broader ambition as Stream Systems seeks to diversify its offerings and enhance its trading capabilities.
“I am elated to help guide this innovative company into its next stage of development,” stated Webster. He further acknowledged the foundational vision of Cammarata, who established Stream in 2019 to transition what remains largely a voice brokerage business into an electronic trading powerhouse. Webster expressed confidence that the existing technology, partnerships, and customer relationships at Stream will be instrumental in realizing this vision.
With a wealth of experience spanning over 17 years as Executive Managing Director and General Manager of BGC Financial in key financial hubs like New York, London, and Hong Kong, Webster brings invaluable expertise to his new role. His background also includes serving as CEO for ICAP plc in Asia Pacific and the Middle East, adding to his credentials in the global trade arena.
Cammarata explained, “Stream has experienced remarkable growth, making it increasingly challenging for me to juggle both my CEO responsibilities and trading commitments essential for generating revenues to support our expansion. Mark's involvement as an investor and now as our CEO is precisely what we need to fully transition to electronic trading.”
Founded on the premise that the future of foreign exchange trading hinges on peer-to-peer electronic platforms, Stream Systems is addressing the challenges of its dominant voice-brokered market. Less than half of FXO transactions are currently executed without an intermediary, underscoring the need for a dramatic shift in operational practices.
The company is already well-prepared for this shift, having developed a proprietary electronic trading platform capable of streaming prices for FXO traders across major banking institutions. Additionally, Stream has established partnerships with seven of the nine leading liquidity providers in the FXO domain, further solidifying its market position.
Mark Webster's career began with Tullet and Tokyo Ltd. in 1981, where he honed his skills in London and later managed trading desks in Sydney, Australia. His illustrious career has spanned various prestigious roles, culminating in leadership positions at ICAP and BGC Partners, where he facilitated crucial trading operations across multiple global cities.
Webster also boasts a diploma in economics and business from Buckingham New University in London, complemented by regulatory licenses in the US, UK, and Asia. This diverse experience positions him as a capable leader who can navigate the complexities of modern trading practices.
As Stream Systems prepares for its next chapter under Webster’s leadership, the company continues to make strides in delivering cutting-edge fintech solutions that empower institutional clients to navigate the volatility of the foreign exchange market. Moreover, Stream deploys its platform through its subsidiary, LPSFX LLC, ensuring compliance and reliability in the rapidly changing financial landscape.
With a vision of innovating how foreign exchange trading is conducted, Mark Webster’s appointment marks a significant milestone for Stream Systems as it aims to redefine industry standards in electronic trading. The excitement surrounding this transition indicates a promising future for the company and its ambition to lead in FX options trading.
