About PeaceTech

The PeaceTech initiative seeks to utilize technology to tackle the underlying societal challenges that inhibit peace. The awards aim to discover and reward startups making significant contributions in this field, ultimately fostering a new industry within Japan that can resonate globally.

Given recent global conflicts and the rising importance of sustainability and social equity, the PeaceTech arena is becoming increasingly prominent. Shane Ray Martin, a notable investor, has projected that this market could potentially reach $100 billion by 2033.

As we explore peace from both passive and proactive standpoints, we aim to leverage Japan's unique social context to bring about technological innovation that is recognized globally. This award serves as a crucial stepping stone to elevate ongoing efforts toward a peaceful society through innovative technological ventures.
