Tokyo Launches Public Engagement Campaign for a Better City Experience.

Tokyo's New Engagement Campaign: "Living with Each Individual"

Starting November 20, Tokyo Metropolitan Government is launching a public participation campaign titled "Living with Each Individual" aimed at fostering a stronger bond between residents and local governance. Through this initiative, the government hopes to enhance interest in the city’s policies and contribute to a city where each citizen can realize their potential.

What is the Campaign About?

The slogan "Living with Each Individual" reflects the Tokyo government’s commitment to deliver information that resonates with each resident. Every staff member is encouraged to envision the daily lives and faces of citizens while promoting various policies aimed at maximizing residents' quality of life (QOL).

A Digital Platform for Citizen Voices

To create a government that is responsive to its residents, Tokyo is launching a special website to introduce citizens' feedback and relevant policies. Last year, a campaign inviting citizens to share their aspirations under the hashtag "#WhatIWantInTokyo" received an impressive 8,655 submissions, covering a variety of topics from parenting and safety to entrepreneurship and housing. These insights will be shared on the newly launched website.

  • - "Parenting with Love" centered on seamless childcare support,
  • - "A Day We Want to Protect" highlighting disaster prevention measures.
