EQT Foundation's New Science Grants Initiative



The EQT Foundation has recently announced an exciting opportunity aimed at revolutionizing the field of central nervous system (CNS) medicine. This initiative invites scientists worldwide to submit proposals for pioneering technologies designed to overcome the blood-brain barrier (BBB), a major hurdle in treating neurological disorders. The foundation seeks to award grants ranging from €25,000 to €100,000 to those developing high-impact, deeptech solutions with the potential to significantly advance CNS therapy delivery.

For many patients struggling with neurological conditions such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and other serious disorders, the BBB poses a significant challenge, preventing effective medications from reaching the brain. This biological barrier not only blocks over 98% of small-molecule drugs but also nearly all large molecule therapeutics, resulting in a critical gap in treatment options for millions of individuals. Understanding the Blood-Brain Barrier



The BBB acts as a protective shield for the brain, but it also hampers the delivery of crucial medications.
