Tokyo Denki University Collaborates with J-COM Adachi
Tokyo Denki University, under the leadership of President Tadahiko Iba, is set to host an exciting workshop aimed at 4th graders from Adachi Ward on July 29th, 2025. This initiative, titled the '2025 Mini 4WD Workshop', is designed to inspire young minds by engaging them in the art of hands-on manufacturing through the beloved pastime of Mini 4WD racing. In partnership with J-COM Tokyo Adachi, this event marks another significant addition to the annual workshops that began in 2017, which have consistently drawn in eager participants and received positive feedback over the years.
The workshop will kick off at Tokyo Denki University's Senju campus, located in Adachi-ku, Tokyo, where participants will undergo a series of mini-lectures led by employees from Tamiya Corporation as well as technical advisors from the university's Manufacturing Center. Following these informative sessions, university graduate and undergraduate students will assist the young participants as they construct their own Mini 4WD cars within a set timeframe.
Once assembled, the cars will compete on a specially designed track, where the children will race to determine whose Mini 4WD is the fastest. This engaging competition not only pits the students against one another but also features exhibition races showcasing Mini 4WD vehicles crafted by the university's students, providing an excellent opportunity for further learning and inspiration.
