The Civic Activity Subsidy Fund is designed to assist grassroots organizations that tackle issues often overlooked by governmental bodies. Since its inception in 1998, the fund has cumulatively allocated over 1.2 billion yen to a total of 318 organizations by the end of the 2024 fiscal year.

For the 2025 fiscal year, a total of 5 million yen in grants is expected, offered in two tiers: up to 500,000 yen for larger organizations and 100,000 yen for smaller initiatives. Unlike conventional grant systems, this fund allows greater flexibility in its use, including operational and personnel costs, which is crucial for sustained activities.

An online report meeting will be held on July 5, where twelve organizations funded during the 2024 fiscal year will share their activities, funding usage, and future plans.
