Celebrate Creative Fashion with Duck Tape®
This year, the Duck® Brand is once again showcasing exceptional creativity and ingenuity as part of its 25th Annual Stuck at Prom® Scholarship Contest. Launched a quarter of a century ago, this contest has encouraged high school students across the United States and Canada to express themselves through fashion made entirely from Duck Tape®.
A Journey of Creativity and Passion
From the scenic beaches of California to the picturesque hills of New York, this year's participants have truly shown their flair and commitment to crafting amazing prom attire. With nearly 150 entries vying for the top spot, the competition has broadened the horizons of DIY fashion. The top 10 contestants have been selected, capturing a mix of talent, effort, and creativity.
Among the finalists, we see stunning creations such as corset silhouettes and dramatic, flowing trains. Accessorizing their outfits, students have crafted unique headpieces and custom clutches, influenced by themes ranging from fairytales to nature and pop culture. The designs spotlight bold color choices and vibrant patterns, making a strong statement at every prom event.
Kerry Haugh, director of product marketing at Shurtape Technologies, LLC, notes, "The level of creativity this year is astounding, and every piece is a labor of love. Each finalist combined their unique vision with the reliable versatility of Duck Tape®, spending over 1,000 hours and using more than 200 rolls of tape to bring their dreams to reality. It's more than a fashion contest; it’s about heart and innovation."
