In contrast, the Q8 version boasts a slightly larger QFN88 package at 10 x 10 mm, optimized for USB-C integration, including multiplexers (muxes) for upstream and two downstream ports. This feature helps overcome the basic round-robin scheduling limitations of USB 5 Gbps hubs, allowing the VL822i to nest requests and handle multiple simultaneous transactions when paired with a USB 10 Gbps host. This results in reduced latency at the system level and enhanced performance and responsiveness when operating multiple USB 5 Gbps devices.
