Hitachi Solutions Publishes the Sustainability Action Book 2025 Focusing on Human Capital Management and AI Utilization

Hitachi Solutions' Sustainability Action Book 2025

On October 6, Hitachi Solutions, headquartered in Shinagawa, Tokyo, unveiled its latest communication tool, the Sustainability Action Book 2025. This book serves as a summary primarily focused on the initiatives planned for the fiscal year 2024 aimed at engaging stakeholders. This year marks the third consecutive publication following the Sustainability Action Book 2024, which received recognition for its corporate activity report at the 46th Japan BtoB Advertising Awards, earning the sustainability award for two consecutive years.

The 2025 edition introduces new elements around human capital management and AI utilization, expanding upon the previous year’s themes. It continues to map various activities centered on materiality, aligning with Hitachi Solutions’ ongoing commitment to global information disclosure.

What’s more, due to the deepening focus on materiality efforts, the structure of the sustainability website has shifted from a prior framework that included Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) aspects to a revamped format that reflects these material concerns more accurately.

Hitachi Solutions announces a new slogan, “DX by AX toward SX”, going into the fiscal year 2024. This initiative emphasizes accelerating digital transformation (DX) driven by AI, in pursuit of sustainable corporate management and social outcomes. The company is dedicated to co-creating new value with its customers, partners, and local communities, aiming to contribute to a happier society.

Background of the Sustainability Action Book 2025

As the world faces various challenges such as climate change, environmental degradation, population issues, and conflicts, companies are compelled to innovate towards sustainability to secure long-term value and profit. Hitachi Solutions launched the SX Project in fiscal 2022, which aims to promote sustainable societal development by enhancing environmental, social, and economic values in a balanced manner. The project is at the heart of its medium-term management plan for 2024.

To support these activities, Hitachi Solutions has consistently compiled the sustainability information into the yearly Sustainability Action Book, which details the company's initiatives while enhancing the content available on its sustainability website and corporate introductory materials.

Highlights of the Sustainability Action Book 2025

1. Introduction of Human Capital Management: A new page dedicated to human capital management will feature messages from the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) along with specific practice details.
2. AI Initiatives: Multiple AI-related initiatives will be highlighted across pages focused on the latest technologies, diversity, and governance.
3. Advancements in the SX Project: The book showcases a new promotion system for practicing sustainability management that builds on the work undertaken through the SX Project.
