In a pivotal move to fortify its financial backbone, 2U, a prominent name in the education technology sector, has announced the appointment of Arun Shivdasani as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Effective from June 2, 2025, Shivdasani brings over thirty years of invaluable experience from sectors that bridge higher education and technology.

A Journey Through Financial Expertise

Shivdasani, known for his strategic financial development, has a rich history that spans various economic environments. His career has been marked by roles at both mid-sized private equity-backed entities and large publicly traded companies, giving him a unique vantage point in understanding business transformations and strategic planning. His capabilities also encompass capital raising, mergers and acquisitions, and operational analytics, all of which will be critical for 2U as it continues to evolve and address the shifting educational landscape.

Building on a Legacy of Educational Impact

Prior to joining 2U, Shivdasani served as the Managing Partner at Blue Tanzanite Advisors, where he offered financial guidance to CEOs and private equity firms. His previous role as CFO at Tangoe saw him successfully manage finance and legal departments while overseeing a crucial multi-year transformation aimed at growth. This background is complemented by a tenure at Bloomberg, where he held key financial roles, including as CFO of Bloomberg Global Data. His extensive experience at Laureate Education as CFO of Walden University and associated online universities allowed him to witness firsthand the transformative power of education.
