Breaking Down Barriers: Education Meets Technology at Social Change Agency's 10th Anniversary Event



On October 19, 2025, the NPO Social Change Agency (SCA), under the leadership of Executive Director Hoku Yokoyama, will host a special anniversary event in Tokyo's Taito Ward. The event marks a decade of efforts toward reshaping social security systems, aiming to transform them into effective safety nets for all.

The vision of SCA revolves around not only overcoming the paradigm of application-based access to social security but also fundamentally changing how we view assistance and self-sufficiency. Through engaging methodologies like the social security game and AI-driven support tools, SCA is working tirelessly to clear the hurdles that many face when seeking help.

Event Details


The celebration will take place at the venue SOOO dramatic! in the Ueno area, starting at 14:00. The nearest stations are convenient, with quick walking access from several subway and JR stations.

Agenda:

1. Business Report: A discussion on the shift in SCA's business strategy and current activities as they enter their next decade.
2. Social Security Game Experience: Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with an analog game designed to make social security personal. The event will showcase successful integration cases from teachers, municipalities, and welfare professionals.
3. Networking Session: An open networking environment where participants with shared interests and challenges can connect. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.

Achievements from 2015 to 2022

  • - 2023: Collaboration with Okayama Prefecture’s health and welfare department to develop guidance services for support systems and consultation windows.
  • - 2024: Introduction of the social security game program, incorporating gamification to educate participants on social security, which was selected by the Tokyo Metropolitan Board of Education for high school programs.
  • - Continued Leadership: Involvement of Executive Director Yokoyama in various committees and initiatives aimed at advancing social security education and strategies.

Throughout these years, SCA has firmly established itself as a pivotal player in reforming social security access, blending educational tools and technological advancements to create inclusive solutions.
