University of Utah Launches Utah 360

The University of Utah, well-regarded as the leader in higher education and research within the state, has introduced a groundbreaking mobile application known as Utah 360. Developed in partnership with Pathify, a renowned provider of digital engagement solutions for educational institutions, this innovative app is designed to enhance campus experiences by integrating various functions into a single platform.

A Unified Platform for Everyone

Utah 360 aims to serve multiple members of the university community, providing tailored experiences for students, alumni, faculty, and sports fans alike. The app effectively replaces a handful of older applications, including those for athletics, general campus services, ticketing, and alumni engagement, creating a unified space that caters to varied interests and needs.

Features of Utah 360:

• - For Students: Users can effortlessly check their UCard balances, stay informed about campus events, receive safety notifications, navigate campus maps, access bus routes, connect with student organizations, and utilize various helpful resources.
• - For Athletics Fans: Fans can access tickets for sporting events, receive game-day alerts, view schedules and statistics, order from mobile concessions, and locate parking with ease.
• - For Alumni: The app keeps alumni connected with the university by providing updates on news, events, and information pertinent to former students.
• - For Faculty and Staff: Faculty members can check UCard balances, receive crucial updates, and engage with internal tools through the app.

Jeff Labrum, the Chief Operating Officer of the University of Utah, expressed excitement about the potential of the Utah 360 app to streamline communication across the university. He notes that the app consolidates previously separate applications, enabling users to access relevant information quickly and conveniently from one place.

Addressing Previous Challenges

Before the introduction of Utah 360, the university had to manage multiple standalone applications which often led to a disjointed user experience. This fragmentation resulted in overlapping content and gaps in functionality, making it challenging for users to navigate their digital campus experience effectively. Recognizing these issues, the COO’s office prioritized the development of Utah 360 to facilitate a more cohesive digital environment.

Chase Williams, CEO and Co-Founder of Pathify, remarked that the Utah 360 app is a perfect illustration of Pathify's mission — to simplify and personalize the digital experience for those in higher education.
