Japan Benex's New Solar Power Initiative
Japan Benex, headquartered in Isahaya City, Nagasaki Prefecture, has embarked on a significant renewable energy project with the launch of its new solar power facility, the "Benex Amagasaki Solar Port." Situated on the roof of the "Mitsui Real Estate Logistics Park (MFLP) Amagasaki 1," developed by Mitsui Real Estate Co., Ltd., this facility boasts an installation capacity of approximately 1.3MW. With 2,106 solar panels in place, the project's design aligns with current energy consumption patterns, allowing onsite power usage via a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) along with the selling of surplus energy through the Feed-in Premium (FIP) system.
Project Overview
The "Benex Amagasaki Solar Port" is designed to generate an estimated annual electricity output of around 1,535,000 kWh, which is sufficient to power approximately 512 average households. The facility will primarily consume the power produced onsite while any excess energy will be sold externally, making it a dual-purpose operation aligning with Japan's renewable energy targets. The project officially commenced operations on June 25, 2025.
