FilmUSA Expands Its Presence at Cannes with New Pavilion and More Space
FilmUSA Takes Center Stage at Marché du Film
FilmUSA, representing over 120 U.S. film commissions, is gearing up for a remarkable presence at the upcoming Marché du Film during the Festival de Cannes. Slated from May 12 to 21, 2026, this year's event will showcase FilmUSA's newly established Pavilion at the Village International Riviera. This new location boasts an impressive increase in space, featuring 100 square meters of indoor area along with a scenic 50-square-meter terrace that overlooks the stunning Mediterranean.Seeking to reinforce its influence on the global stage, FilmUSA's expansion mirrors its broader role in the U.S. screen economy. As the national trade association, it has committed to enhancing its federal advocacy and growing its membership, acting as a unified representative for American production interests worldwide. At Cannes, the U.S. delegation will serve as a warm welcome for international producers, financiers, and distributors looking to engage with the American film industry.
President Katie Patton Pryor shared her enthusiasm about the new pavilion, stating, "A larger footprint at Cannes means more room for the conversations, partnerships, and policy work that strengthen American production. This pavilion is an invitation to every state and city film office back home, to every international partner walking the Croisette, and to every producer thinking about where to make their next film."
Complementing this expanded pavilion, FilmUSA's programming at Cannes will include a range of activities designed to foster networking and partnership. Key highlights will feature dedicated State Days that spotlight regional film incentives and productions in states like New Mexico, Florida, and Georgia through tailored presentations and media advisories. Moreover, there will be specialized roundtable discussions, including one on American director Reed Van Dyk's Atonement, which is part of the Cannes Directors' Fortnight.
The United for Business Networking Reception, in collaboration with United Airlines, aims to connect production professionals with travel solutions tailored to the entertainment industry. To further encourage collaboration, nightly happy hour receptions will take place on the pavilion's waterfront terrace, enabling film commissioners, producers, and international buyers to connect and exchange ideas.
The programming also extends to insightful discussions on independent filmmaking trends, featuring key stakeholders from the Cannes Palme d'Or nominated productions. The panel discussion, titled The Industry Reset, will delve into how independent films secure financing amid changing market dynamics.
Another notable presentation will be for sHEALed, a documentary that explores women's health across the lifespan. This film aims to challenge conventional narratives by integrating modern health practices and holistic approaches.
