AESC Receives A- Rating from CDP for Climate Change, Leading in Battery Manufacturing Sustainability
AESC's Commitment to Sustainability
AESC, a frontrunner in electric vehicle battery technology, has achieved a notable A- rating for climate change from CDP, a leading organization specializing in environmental disclosure. This accolade marks AESC as the top-rated lithium battery manufacturer globally for the 2025 reporting cycle.
Understanding The CDP Rating
The CDP rating system is a recognized benchmark used by investors, regulators, and clients to assess corporate performance in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria. Within the 2025 CDP climate change reporting cycle, of the 22,100 companies evaluated, only 10% managed to earn a rating of A- or higher. AESC’s A- rating reflects its robust and transparent carbon management system and its commitment to decarbonizing battery production.
Integration of Emission Reduction Goals
AESC integrates emission reduction goals into its business decision-making processes and daily operations worldwide. The company has developed powerful capabilities in carbon footprint management, the adoption of renewable energy, and industrial decarbonization. AESC aligns its global initiatives with the EU Battery Regulation and other international compliance standards, resulting in a systematic carbon footprint management framework that uses internationally recognized methodologies.
Milestones Achieved
Significantly, in 2022, AESC became the first battery manufacturer in the world to achieve carbon neutrality across all its global operations, validated by the Carbon Trust. It also launched the industry's first carbon-neutral electric vehicle battery that same year, followed by a carbon-neutral battery in 2023. Through its global manufacturing network, AESC continues to optimize operations to reduce energy consumption and minimize carbon emissions.
This includes various site-specific energy-saving upgrades, such as sophisticated temperature and humidity control systems, smart sensor installations on production lines, and the reutilization of residual heat and water to mitigate energy losses. Collaboratively, AESC partners with key suppliers to facilitate emissions reduction throughout the value chain.
Setting Standards for Decarbonization
AESC is pioneering a practical and scalable pathway to decarbonization in the lithium battery sector. The CDP A- rating enhances AESC’s stature as a sustainability leader, as the company works hand in hand with clients and partners worldwide to nurture a more sustainable battery ecosystem.
