Dress Code Enhances IT Force Series for Better Security
In a significant move to bolster security measures, Dress Code Inc., based in Chuo, Tokyo, has announced an update to its popular IT Force series, specifically targeting the Shadow IT and Shadow AI functionalities. This update introduces a new feature that enables detection of personal email addresses used during login, providing companies with the ability to visualize instances of unauthorized access and mitigate risks associated with data theft and unauthorized accounts.
The Rising Challenge of Shadow IT
With the increasing adoption of AI services, many employees are increasingly using their personal email addresses for accessing web services and applications that are not sanctioned by their employers. This rise in Shadow IT usage has led to a plethora of challenges for organizations, including the use of company data on accounts that are outside of the organization's control, persistent access by former employees, and difficulty in identifying users.
The issue becomes even more complex in environments where different credential systems and browser settings coexist, as seen with tools like Google Workspace and Microsoft 365. The latest update from Dress Code aims to combat these obscured risks associated with personal email logins.
Key Features of the Update
The updated system is designed to automatically detect email addresses used during logins that do not match any of the accounts managed by Dress Code. It compares the accessed ID against their existing database, thereby identifying unregistered email addresses used for business purposes and tackling related challenges efficiently.
Detection of Personal Email Logins
The new functionality allows organizations to collect and analyze the email addresses used to log into web services and AI platforms. This creates transparency regarding how personal emails are being utilized within the organizational framework. Organizations can now visualize login instances made with personal addresses, enabling better oversight of their security landscape.
Reducing Unknown Access Instances
With the latest enhancements, businesses can gain clearer visibility into the usage of multiple email addresses and various browsing environments, breaking them down by individual employee. This improvement not only enhances the accuracy of user identification but also makes it easier to track potential risks associated with former employees who might still have access to the organization's systems.
Understanding DRESS CODE
DRESS CODE serves as a workforce management platform aimed at alleviating structural friction between individuals and business operations. In many organizations, the processes related to human resources, information systems, and administration vary significantly across departments, leading to inefficiencies due to duplication and fragmented information.
The platform seeks to reorganize these processes in a way that optimizes operations across the board sustainably. By combining SaaS and a marketplace model, DRESS CODE addresses operational challenges that traditional single-feature SaaS cannot resolve. Its core frameworks include a unified architecture and core database that facilitate seamless information sharing and process design across different business functions.
Currently, Dress Code offers three distinct series: HR Force, IT Force, and GA Force, with plans for future expansion to include six series that will cover recruitment, project management, and governance. Their tools are already in use in various countries including Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam, with ongoing efforts to improve their products and services to solve essential challenges for both domestic and international users.
