First Research Exchange Meeting Between Okayama University and Aizu University
On August 16, 2025, Okayama University (located in Okayama City) and Aizu University convened their first research exchange meeting following the signing of their inter-university alliance agreement on July 24, 2025. This strategic partnership aims to bolster research capacity, innovation, and human resource development through collaboration in education, research, and social engagement.
The meeting focused on three key themes: Space, Computer Science, and Startup Ventures. Opening remarks were delivered by Director and President Tsuneo Tsukabara of Aizu University, who expressed hopes for the fruitful exchange of knowledge and insights spurred by this alliance. Following this, the Vice President of Aizu University, Jiro Iwase, alongside Okayama University’s Vice President for Research and Industry Collaboration, Yoshihito Sato, presented the historical backgrounds and key strengths of their respective institutions.
Each university then showcased their research activities, educational initiatives, and contributions within the three thematic areas. A lively dialogue followed, marked by enthusiastic discussions that extended beyond the scheduled time, reflecting the keen interest and engagement from participants.
