Hispanic Federation's Annual ¡Vive Tu Vida! Get Up! Get Moving! Event in Orlando Focuses on Health and Wellness

¡Vive Tu Vida! Get Up! Get Moving!® in Orlando



On Saturday, December 7, 2024, the Hispanic Federation, in collaboration with the National Alliance for Hispanic Health and the Healthy Americas Foundation, will host the 18th annual ¡Vive Tu Vida! Get Up! Get Moving! event in Orlando, Florida. This national initiative is dedicated to enhancing health awareness and promoting physical activity among Hispanic communities.

Despite significant advancements in medical care, many vulnerable groups continue to face daunting challenges in accessing quality healthcare. Laudi Campo, the state director of the Hispanic Federation in Florida, emphasizes, "Our mission today is to work together to dismantle those barriers and ensure equitable access to health services. This event goes beyond being just a gathering for families; it serves as a platform for education, prevention, and the promotion of healthy habits. We believe that a community's progress begins with its health."

Participants can look forward to a day filled with family-friendly activities, including live music, free health screenings, and referrals to community health services. Moreover, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the All of Us Research Program, aiming to collect health data from over a million individuals in the United States to accelerate research and enhance health outcomes.

Dave Pacitti, President of Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc., underscores the necessity of a multifaceted strategy to bridge health disparities. He states, "To mitigate healthcare inequalities, ongoing preventive care and early detection are essential. We are honored to support the local health fair participants as part of this initiative."

David Etzwiler, Executive Director of the Siemens Foundation, adds, "We are committed to advancing health equity by facilitating access to primary care, diagnostic testing, and workforce training in healthcare while providing capital loans to community clinics. It is our pleasure to support ¡Vive tu vida! Get Up! Get Moving! here in Orlando."

Dr. Jane Delgado, President and CEO of the National Alliance for Hispanic Health, also shared her sentiments: "We are thrilled that we can, with the help of our partners and numerous volunteers, provide family activities, health screenings, and vital information on health and wellness.
