KeyBank and Pro Football Hall of Fame Seal Naming Rights for Future Event Center

KeyBank and Pro Football Hall of Fame Join Forces

In a significant move for both KeyBank and the Pro Football Hall of Fame (PFHOF), a naming rights agreement has been reached for a new event center slated for construction at the Hall's site in Canton, Ohio. This milestone not only signifies a partnership between the bank and the renowned institution but also underscores a commitment to community engagement and education.

What’s in a Name?

The forthcoming facility, designated as the KeyBank Center at the Pro Football Hall of Fame, is anticipated to be the largest of its kind in the region, with plans to host various Hall of Fame events, notably the Enshrinement Weekend celebrations beginning in 2027. Beyond hosting high-profile events, the venue aims to serve as a community hub, accommodating local gatherings and activities.

Jim Porter, the President and CEO of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, expressed his enthusiasm about this collaboration, stating, "The relationship with KeyBank extends across our community at multiple layers. Not only will this agreement support a first-class hospitality venue in our community, but it also provides a valuable educational resource to be shared through our various outreach programs."

Educational Initiatives

A remarkable aspect of this partnership is the incorporation of educational programming. KeyBank's involvement includes the rollout of a financial literacy curriculum through the Hall’s existing educational outreach efforts. This initiative is a part of KeyBank's ongoing commitment to community development and stakeholder engagement, particularly targeting youth education in financial matters.

Chris Gorman, the Chairman and CEO of KeyCorp, highlighted the bank's excitement about establishing deeper roots in Northeast Ohio. He noted, "As KeyBank celebrates our bicentennial, we are thrilled to deepen our roots in Northeast Ohio through the creation of the KeyBank Center at the Pro Football Hall of Fame. This partnership reflects our long-standing commitment to investing in communities, and honoring legacy."

Center Features

The KeyBank Center will boast impressive amenities designed to accommodate a variety of events. The main event space will cover nearly 12,000 square feet and will feature a large glass system that opens to the adjacent field turf area, alongside full kitchen facilities for catering. A rooftop terrace will also add a unique touch to the venue, providing an exceptional space for celebrations and gatherings.

On the second floor, visitors will find a chic café, a VIP club for exclusive events, and over 6,500 square feet of rooftop space boasting additional turf for outdoor festivities.

Community Impact

William V. Sherer II, the Mayor of Canton, also shared his praise for the new development. He acknowledged the monumental significance of the project, stating, "This project reflects our shared commitment to celebrate Canton's legacy as the birthplace of the NFL while driving our city toward cultural and economic growth."

The groundbreaking for the KeyBank Center is scheduled for the fall of 2025, with hopes of concluding construction in time for the Hall's Enshrinement festivities in 2027. This timeline reflects a well-structured plan to ensure that the venue is ready to serve its intended purpose of providing top-tier hospitality and community engagement.

A Legacy of Service

Founded in 1825, KeyBank proudly commemorates its bicentennial in 2025 by reaffirming its commitment to the communities it serves across the United States. With around 1,000 branches and 1,200 ATMs, KeyBank provides comprehensive financial services, and through its partnership with the Hall of Fame, it aims to extend its impact into educational avenues as well.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame, located in Canton, Ohio, stands out as a celebrated institution dedicated to preserving the history and values of one of America’s favorite sports, and this new facility promises to amplify that mission.

Fans from across the globe visit the Hall to appreciate the rich history and legacy of football, and with the addition of the KeyBank Center, the Hall's ability to serve the community and visitors alike is bound to enrich the overall experience and heighten its appeal in the years to come.
