Every year, the Times Higher Education (THE) publishes a list that evaluates universities across Asia, and KIIT Deemed to be University in Bhubaneswar, India, has made remarkable progress this year. In the 2025 edition of the rankings, KIIT has jumped to 184th place overall in Asia, significantly improving from 196th position last year. This achievement not only underscores the university's growth but also its increasing reputation as a center of academic excellence on a global level.
This ranking places KIIT as the eighth best university in India, among both public and private institutions. It also retains its distinction as the highest-ranked recognized university in both East and North India. One noteworthy highlight is that in the field of Sports Sciences, KIIT now ranks second in the country, showcasing its strengths in diverse academic disciplines.
The 2025 rankings include 853 universities from 35 countries and territories, evaluated based on their performance in research, teaching, knowledge transfer, and international outlook. The assessments utilize 18 performance indicators, making these rankings highly regarded and trusted by students, academics, lawmakers, and industry leaders around the world.
