HOYA BIT Achieves World's First Carbon Neutral Crypto Platform Certification Using BSI ISO 14068-1 Standards

HOYA BIT Sets a New Standard for Sustainability in Cryptocurrency

In a groundbreaking achievement, HOYA BIT, a cryptocurrency platform based in Taiwan, has recently become the first in the world to obtain the BSI ISO 14068-1 certification for carbon neutrality. This milestone represents a significant step toward promoting sustainability within the digital asset sector and shows the commitment of HOYA BIT to responsible business practices.

The certification was formally presented to HOYA BIT by Bryn Sutton, Vice President of BSI, and Aiman Ali, Global Head of Sustainability, during a special event in Taiwan. This occasion underscores BSI's trust in HOYA BIT and reflects the company's leadership in the field of sustainable digital finance.

Integrating Carbon Management and Transparency

HOYA BIT's journey towards carbon neutrality involved integrating effective carbon management strategies, ensuring transparent information dissemination, and undergoing third-party audits. With these components in place, HOYA BIT has established a robust framework that distinguishes its operations in the digital asset industry.

As the first national standards institution in the world, BSI's certifications are accepted globally as benchmarks for compliance with digital governance standards, recognized by technology leaders such as Microsoft and Google. The ISO 14068-1 standard obliges companies to disclose their total carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions throughout the entire lifecycle of their operations and to create a clear pathway toward reductions, verified by external audits.

Under the guidance of Zoe Peng, Founder and Chairperson of HOYA BIT, the platform has adopted the Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) methodology and has committed to a range of Gold Standard projects aimed at carbon offsetting. A key focus of this approach is supporting renewable energy initiatives that contribute measurable progress toward the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Zoe Peng emphasized the importance of verification in building trust: "The digital asset sector must respond to market expectations around governance, accountability, and transparency in a verifiable and internationally recognized manner. The key to the sector's maturity lies not only in functional innovation but also in consistently demonstrating that a platform is credible through verified actions."

Participation in BSI's 125th Anniversary Gala further highlights the emerging role of Taiwan’s digital asset space in the global dialogue about sustainable governance practices. It signals a collective commitment to environmentally responsible measures and regulatory adherence within the crypto community.

Future Enhancements to Carbon Reporting

Looking ahead, HOYA BIT plans to enhance its CO₂ reporting mechanisms, offering users various avenues to participate in reducing CO₂ emissions actively. The company aims to make sustainability a shared and concrete responsibility among its user base. By engaging customers, HOYA BIT expects to empower the crypto community to contribute to environmental efforts and raise awareness about the importance of sustainability in financial technologies.

As the world progressively shifts towards eco-conscious initiatives, HOYA BIT stands out as a pioneer in leading the crypto industry toward embracing sustainable practices. This certification not only distinguishes HOYA BIT from other players in the market but also sets a high standard for future cryptocurrency platforms to emulate. Through this commitment to carbon neutrality and responsible governance, HOYA BIT is better positioned to navigate the evolving landscape of digital finance with integrity and accountability.
