Mediphone Corporation Announces New Board Members and Executives to Strengthen Leadership Team

Mediphone Corporation Strengthens Leadership with New Appointments

Tokyo-based Mediphone Corporation, which specializes in supporting healthcare management for institutions and businesses, has officially announced the appointments of two key leaders effective from May 1, 2025. Takashi Yamaguchi, the current COO, has been appointed as a board member, and Tatsuya Hirata, the head of the corporate department, has been named executive officer.

As the healthcare industry rapidly evolves due to increasing inbound tourism and the advent of generative AI, Mediphone is focusing on multilingual solutions and digital transformation (DX) to keep pace with these changes. The company aims to make swift and informed decisions across all aspects of its operations—products, services, and organizational structure—to ensure sustainable management practices.

New Board Member: Takashi Yamaguchi

Mr. Yamaguchi brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He started his career in two large staffing companies, where he honed his skills in sales and management. Later, he became the youngest sales manager at Cross Marketing, where he was involved in business and organizational development. After contributing significantly to the growth of WED Corporation, he joined Mediphone in September 2024 as Executive Officer and Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), eventually becoming COO in February 2025. His governance as a board member will initiate critical advancements in the company.

In his address upon his appointment as a board member, Yamaguchi highlighted the ongoing issues facing Japan, such as a declining workforce and shortage of successors. He emphasized how these challenges necessitate a transformation within the healthcare and welfare sectors, especially in terms of expanding inbound services and the integration of foreign workers. He acknowledged Mediphone's mission to establish new healthcare infrastructure, underscoring the importance of their key products, mediPhone and mediment, in resolving industry challenges and supporting societal health.

New Executive Officer: Tatsuya Hirata

Mr. Hirata arrives with extensive experience from roles in leading companies, including Itochu Enex, Recruit, and SMS, where he managed accounting and corporate divisions. He later became the Management Director at TENET, a startup focused on online healthcare, which provided him with vital experience in fundraising and preparing for public offerings. Since January 2024, Hirata has been serving as the corporate head at Mediphone.

In his inaugural address as an executive officer, Hirata shared his commitment to rebuilding the corporate governance framework and strengthening recruitment systems and internal controls. He believes that amid rapid changes in societal and business contexts, a robust corporate structure is essential for sustaining growth.

Hirata reaffirmed Mediphone's unique position in the healthcare sector and expressed confidence that the company could deliver significant value to Japanese society moving forward.

CEO Mayumi Sawada's Statement

CEO Mayumi Sawada expressed enthusiasm about the addition of Yamaguchi and Hirata to the management team. She noted that being adaptable in a fast-changing business environment is crucial for startup leadership. Sawada emphasized the renewed strength of the executive team and their commitment to accelerating business growth amidst evolving industry dynamics.

Future Prospects at Mediphone

Mediphone Corporation continues its mission of building innovative medical infrastructure designed for the new diverse society, actively seeking to tackle industry challenges through its flagship products: mediPhone and mediment. The company aims to support the comprehensive integration of foreign patients in clinical settings by offering telemedicine translation services and training seminars for healthcare professionals.

The mediPhone service not only enhances communication between medical institutions and patients but is also being adopted by local governments and healthcare societies. On the other hand, the mediment platform is facilitating significant efficiency gains in HR-related health management tasks by providing cloud-based support for health service coordination and regulatory compliance.

As Mediphone expands its capabilities and adapts to changes in the workforce, it remains dedicated to promoting a healthier work environment and contributing to the advancement of healthcare in Japan.
