Union Home Foundation's Gala Amasses Over $300,000 for Housing Education and Equity

On November 14, 2025, the Union Home Foundation celebrated its 10-year anniversary and remarkable milestone with the Decade of Giving fundraising gala, held at the prestigious Huntington Convention Center in downtown Cleveland, Ohio. The event proved to be a resounding success, amassing over $300,000 that will be allocated to grants benefiting nonprofits focused on housing and financial literacy across the United States. This biennial gala, attended by over 450 guests, reflected the Foundation's unwavering commitment to improving economic self-sufficiency and access to housing resources.

Notable figures graced the event, including WKYC meteorologist Betsy Kling, legendary radio host Ed 'Flash' Ferenc, John Litten, President and CEO of Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity, and Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb. In a testament to its ongoing partnership with impactful organizations, the Union Home Foundation made a significant donation of $50,000 to Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity during the gala.

This donation is particularly notable as it follows another $50,000 contribution made during the gala in 2023, which previously enabled Union Home Mortgage to sponsor the construction of a new Habitat home in Cleveland. This initiative had already culminated in the successful completion of the home build in April 2025, showcasing the Foundation’s relentless pursuit of advancing affordable housing solutions.

Bill Cosgrove, CEO of Union Home Mortgage and Board Chairman of the Foundation, reflected on the organization's journey over the past decade, expressing pride in its evolution and impact. "Looking back on where we started ten years ago, I am so proud of where the Union Home Foundation is today," Cosgrove stated, highlighting a vision for the future filled with growth and influence.

Ashley Ali, the Foundation's Director of Corporate Communications, complemented Cosgrove's sentiments, emphasizing the integral role of UHM partners in the Foundation’s philanthropy. "Our UHM Partners are deeply woven into the fabric of the Union Home Foundation, and our goal has always been to provide an avenue for them to express their generosity and kindness," Ali remarked. She further extended gratitude to all sponsors of the event, acknowledging the crucial backing from partners, including presenting sponsor Vantage Financial Group.

Since its inception in 2015, the Union Home Foundation has allocated more than $2 million in funding to nonprofits spanning 23 states. The proceeds from this year’s gala will continue this important work, directing funds towards vital housing initiatives and financial literacy programs that are essential in helping families achieve responsible homeownership.
