Segway and Dott Launch an Innovative E-Bike Designed for Urban Paris Streets

Segway and Dott: Transforming Urban Mobility in Paris

In an exciting development for urban cyclists, Segway and Dott have joined forces to unveil a groundbreaking electric bike, the Urban B200, tailored specifically for the bustling streets of Paris. Since October 1, 2025, this new bike model has been rolled out as part of a strategic partnership, following a renewed four-year agreement with the City of Paris. The collaborations reflect a commitment to enhancing urban transport and promoting environmentally friendly alternatives.

Paris has become Dott’s largest market, witnessing over 5.3 million rides in 2025 alone, showcasing the city's significant demand for shared mobility solutions. Dott has committed to investing €10 million between 2025 and 2029 to expand its operational footprint in Paris, ensuring a more reliable service while aiding the city's transition to greener transportation modes.

Henri Moissinac, CEO and co-founder of Dott, expressed pride in contributing to the transformation of Paris into a global leader in sustainable urban mobility. He emphasized that the Urban B200 is not merely a fleet update, but a culmination of years of operational learning and user feedback, resulting in a bike designed to encourage everyday cycling habits.

The Urban B200 was developed through a close collaboration between Segway and Dott, blending local insights from Parisian cyclists with Segway’s global technical expertise. A pilot project that started in May 2025 allowed both companies to gather real-time data to enhance various aspects of the bike, from hardware to embedded software.

Key features of the Urban B200 include a high-visibility dashboard that provides real-time updates on battery life and vehicle status. An integrated torque sensor in the pedal system ensures smooth and intuitive acceleration, tailored to the rider's effort. Additionally, a durable open metal basket offers practical storage without sacrificing maneuverability, while full fenders and a covered chain protect the cyclist and bike from wet conditions—an essential feature for year-round commuting.

Operationally, the B200 delivers a significant leap in efficiency. Its 918 Wh battery can last up to 120 kilometers on a single charge, greatly reducing the frequency of battery replacements and ensuring higher availability during peak demand. With a low standby energy consumption of just 0.9 W, the bikes can hold their charge for up to 42 days in standby mode, minimizing recharging needs and operational costs.

Zack Yan, Vice General Manager of Commercial Mobility at Segway, highlighted the technical alignment achieved between Segway and Dott in creating the Urban B200. The bike's design merges durability with user reliability, catering to the complex logistical demands faced by large fleet operators.

The launch of the Urban B200 in Paris marks not only a technical milestone but also underscores the shared ambition of both companies to redefine the future of micromobility across Europe and beyond. Dott is set to maintain a locally established team in Paris, backed by their proven rebalancing and maintenance infrastructure, ensuring consistent service.

Prior models of electric bikes will be redeployed in other cities, emphasizing Dott’s and Segway's commitment to sustainability and resource optimization.
