Bulat Utemuratov Foundation Shines at EUROBAK Awards 2025
The Bulat Utemuratov Foundation has made headlines as a double winner at the prestigious EUROBAK Awards 2025, organized by the European Business Association of Kazakhstan. This momentous occasion recognizes the foundation's exceptional efforts in social responsibility and inclusion initiatives, particularly in Kazakhstan, where it aims to foster progressive societal changes.
Award-Winning Projects
The foundation was awarded first place in the Corporate Social Responsibility category for its impressive project aimed at creating a state-of-the-art community center in the city of Kosshy. Officially opened in March 2025, this multifunctional complex covers a substantial area of 8,500 square meters and includes various facilities compliant with international standards. Designed to cater to up to 1,000 visitors concurrently, the structure boasts amenities for sports, education, and leisure activities. Notably, the project was financed with an investment of $20 million and has been donated to enhance the community's infrastructure without any cost to the local administration.
This center stands out as a beacon for inclusivity, meticulously designed with accessibility features for individuals with disabilities. It houses an array of spaces under one roof, including a cinema, classrooms, exhibition and conference halls, creative studios, co-working spaces, and a vast library. The multi-purpose sports hall is complemented by outdoor facilities that feature courts for football, basketball, volleyball, and tennis, alongside areas dedicated to training and picturesque walking paths. This establishment is poised to enrich local lives by offering a wealth of engagement opportunities for children, with clubs ranging from robotics and chess to choreography and crafts. Adults will also benefit from thoughtfully designed spaces for professional and social activities. The foundation ensures that entry is free, promoting accessibility to all community members.
Furthermore, the second recognition was awarded for the extensive national campaign orchestrated by the foundation during Autism Awareness Month. This initiative aimed to enhance public understanding surrounding Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), advocating for integration and supporting families raising children diagnosed with ASD. The foundation's work extends over a decade, marked by the establishment of 13 'Asyl Miras' autism centers across Kazakhstan, providing free, evidence-based assistance to those in need.
Ainur Karbozova, the CEO of the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation, expressed her pride in their accomplishments, noting, "Winning two EUROBAK Awards this year validates our mission to create opportunities and ensure inclusivity for individuals across Kazakhstan. The Kosshy Community Center and our nationwide Autism Awareness campaign reflect the values we uphold: bringing people together, breaking down barriers, and creating spaces, both physically and socially, where everyone can thrive."
This recent accolade for the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation follows their prior EUROBAK Award in 2024, acknowledging their pivotal contribution to Kazakhstan’s infrastructure with the establishment of a new airport terminal in Kyzylorda.
In summary, the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation continues to lead by example, showcasing what can be accomplished through dedicated social initiatives, fundamental to fostering a more inclusive society in Kazakhstan. These recognitions not only celebrate their past accomplishments but also highlight their ongoing commitment to making a meaningful impact on communities throughout the nation.
