Student Interns Showcase XR Horror Game at HORROR GAME SHOW Vol.1

Unveiling the Thrills of 'Simple Path'

monoDuki LLC, based in Kagoshima, Japan, is set to exhibit a VR horror game developed by its student interns at the 'HORROR GAME SHOW Vol.1'. Scheduled for November 15, 2025, in Hakata, Fukuoka, the event will showcase the innovative work done by these aspiring game developers. The interns took charge of everything from concept and development to marketing, aiming to engage audiences and pave the way for a real game release.

About the Exhibit

The featured game, titled 'Simple Path', invites players to traverse through a dark, eerie road illuminated only by a distant light. However, lurking along this path is an unknown presence waiting to disturb the player's journey. This first-person VR horror experience promises to heighten the players' sense of immersion and dread.

Aspirations Behind the Project

As an intern at monoDuki, Kotora Nakaoka from the XR Development and Play Design team expresses their ambition:
_“My goal with 'Simple Path' is to reach as many players as possible to experience the horror I envisioned. This being my first foray into game development, I started with no programming background, which made it a challenge. However, receiving positive feedback from friends who played my game kept me motivated, and I hope to share this experience with a larger audience during the exhibition. My aim is to turn this showcase into an actual game release.”_

Previous Experiences

Before the showcase, 'Simple Path' had a trial run at the Kagoshima National College of Technology's festival. This event not only provided valuable player feedback but also offered insights into crafting user experiences for future exhibitions.
