AstroTurf Welcomes Erin Cosan as New Softball Division Director
AstroTurf Corporation, a recognized leader in synthetic turf and sports surfacing, has made an exciting addition to its team by naming Erin Cosan as the new Director of Softball. Cosan's extensive background as a coach, player, and data analyst positions her uniquely to drive the strategic direction of the company’s softball division. The announcement was made on May 14, 2025, highlighting AstroTurf's commitment to enhancing the quality of playing surfaces in the sport.
Cosan brings with her a wealth of experience that is expected to greatly influence the way AstroTurf approaches the development and design of softball fields. Having worked in both Division I and Division III coaching positions, she has a proven track record of fostering winning programs. Her tenure includes six seasons as the head coach at Saint Joseph's University in the Atlantic 10 Conference, where she achieved postseason success.
Before joining AstroTurf, Cosan further honed her skills at various institutions such as Haverford College and Pacific Lutheran University. At these programs, she was not only instrumental in coaching but also in creating a culture of excellence that led to numerous conference championships and multiple NCAA Tournament appearances.
Adding to her credentials, Cosan has over a decade of experience with Major League Baseball Advanced Media as a business intelligence engineer and data analyst. This role provided her with intricate knowledge of performance metrics, technology, and innovation in sports—an amalgamation of skills that she will leverage to improve softball facilities effectively. Cosan’s comprehensive background enables her to blend analytical insights with on-field strategies to inform the development of next-generation playing surfaces.
A passionate athlete herself, Erin earned notable accolades during her playing career. She was named to the NFCA Division III Second Team All-America at Cabrini College, later transferring to Fordham University, where she excelled academically and athletically. Her achievements earned her a place in the Fordham Athletic Hall of Fame in 2015, recognizing her contribution to college sports.
Philip Snider, the Chief Operating Officer of AstroTurf, expressed optimism about Erin's new role. He noted, "Erin brings a one-of-a-kind perspective to our team—she's been a player, a coach, and a trusted analyst at the highest levels of the sport.
