NICB Welcomes Marta Magnuszewska as New Senior Vice President and CTO

The National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB), an organization that plays a vital role in preventing and investigating insurance crimes, has announced the appointment of Marta Magnuszewska as its new Senior Vice President and Chief Information and Technology Officer. This leadership transition took effect on July 20, 2026.

Marta brings over two decades of extensive experience within the insurance sector, having demonstrated her expertise in technology, data management, and operational efficiency throughout her career. In her new role at NICB, she will focus on enhancing the organization's technological infrastructure and strategies, aiming to foster innovation and provide added value to its members.

Responsibilities and Goals

As the Senior Vice President and CTO, Marta will lead NICB's IT team and oversee the organization’s infrastructure, application development, and cybersecurity measures. In addition, she will manage the Data Science Team, directly involved in data governance and product innovation. One of her pivotal roles is to advance NICB's use of artificial intelligence, driving efforts that bolster the efficiency of data analysis and fraud detection capabilities.

Before joining NICB, Marta played a crucial role at Markel Insurance Corporation as the Vice President of Claims Transformation, Data Analytics, and AI. There, she spearheaded numerous transformative projects with a significant impact on the claims process and the broader enterprise.

Prior to her tenure at Markel, she held positions that included Assistant Vice President of Data Science and Underwriting Transformation at The Hartford and Senior Leader of Operational Transformation and Analytics at Allstate Insurance. In these roles, she was instrumental in implementing modern data systems aimed at enhancing overall business performance and operational efficiency.

Academic Background

Marta Magnuszewska holds a bachelor's degree in commerce and finance from DePaul University and a master's degree in leadership and communication from Northwestern University. She has also pursued advanced training, including executive development at MIT and a data science specialization at Johns Hopkins University. This academic foundation further supports her capability to forge innovative paths within the insurance industry through technology.
