New Sadako Merchandise Launches at TSUTAYA Kyoto IP Bookstore
ClaN Entertainment, headquartered in Minato, Tokyo, is thrilled to announce the release of new Sadako concept goods starting from July 9, 2026, at the TSUTAYA Kyoto IP Bookstore. As part of this special offering, the bookstore will feature a dedicated corner showcasing these unique products, and customers who purchase qualifying items will receive limited-time exclusive novelties.
The theme for this campaign is "Remix the Seasons of Japan Vividly," focusing on the traditional Japanese calendar, the "24 Solar Terms," which beautifully depicts the changing seasons. Sadako's lineup symbolizes the arrival of summer through the solar term known as "Shosho," reflecting a time when heat intensifies, intermingling tranquility with an unsettling ambiance. This unforgettable aesthetic captures Sadako's uniquely terrifying yet captivating charm amid a fantastical setting.
Unique Artistic Collaborations
For this project, renowned illustrator nii-otto has created original artworks that blend the serene landscapes of Kyoto during Shosho with the haunting presence of Sadako, intricately crafting a world where beauty coexists with dread. As IP and creative arts converge, this collaboration brings forth a distinct universe, fostering a new appreciation for Sadako through exclusive artistic renditions available only at the Kyoto IP Bookstore.

About Sadako
Sadako is a malevolent spirit originating from Koji Suzuki's novel "Ring" published in 1991, which portrays a cursed videotape that leads those who watch it to inevitable death. The character gained worldwide fame after being depicted in the 1998 film adaptation, where its chilling manifestation of crawling out from a TV screen instilled fear throughout late 1990s Japan. Sadako, recognizable by her long black hair and white dress, is infamous for haunting scenes often set in wells and television screens, propagating a cursed virus that claims the lives of viewers. The "Ring" franchise has expanded to American remakes and has secured Sadako's status as a global horror icon, beloved across various age groups.
