How to Easily Ride the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner to World Soccer Matches in SoCal This Month

World Soccer Matches in Southern California

Soccer fanatics across Southern California have something thrilling to look forward to this June: the largest soccer matches in the world kick off in Los Angeles! To accommodate the influx of fans, Amtrak® Pacific Surfliner® has introduced various features to enhance the travel experience. Starting June 11, it's crucial to have a reservation as all Pacific Surfliner trains will require one through July 19. Given the expected increase in riders on match days, booking your journey early will ensure you secure your desired departure time.

Extended Services for Late-Night Matches

To make evening travel more convenient for fans, the Pacific Surfliner is adding late-night departures from Los Angeles on key match days occurring on June 12, 13, 15, and 25. This means that soccer enthusiasts can enjoy their teams' performances all the way to the final whistle and still return home the same night. The additional trains will run later from Union Station to accommodate travelers heading south to San Diego and north to Santa Barbara, providing flexibility and ease to fans.

New Stops for the World Cup Fan Zone

In a special service for the final weekend of the Los Angeles World Cup 26 Fan Zone on July 18 and 19, Pacific Surfliner trains will also stop at the Burbank Downtown station. This allows fans to conveniently access the fan zone event, which promises to be an exciting way to wrap up the tournament.

Easy Access to Los Angeles

Traveling to Los Angeles is straightforward with the Pacific Surfliner. Upon arriving at Union Station, fans can easily connect to LA Metro's World Cup service, which offers rides straight to Los Angeles Stadium for just $1.75 each way. With services starting up to four hours before kick-off and running for 90 minutes after the final whistle, there's no need to worry about parking, traffic, or stress; it’s that hassle-free!

Union Station — More than Just a Train Stop

Even if you don’t possess a match ticket, don’t miss out on the Los Angeles World Cup 26 Fan Zone at Union Station running from June 25 to 28, daily from 10 AM to 9 PM. The Pacific Surfliner conveniently drops fans right at the heart of the action. Attendees can look forward to live screenings, watch parties, and other fan events throughout the corridor, including areas close to Anaheim, Santa Fe Depot in San Diego, and the Funk Zone in Santa Barbara.

Special Fare Discounts

As part of a special promotion until July 15, riders can benefit from a 20% discount on Coach and Business Class fares to and from Los Angeles. This offer is available through a partnership with the LA Tourism and Convention Board. Just go to PacificSurfliner.com/soccer2026 to make a reservation before seats fill up!
