ASCEND Eucharistic Revival Announces Initial Sponsors and Supporters
On January 7, 2026, the ASCEND Eucharistic Revival Executive Committee disclosed the first round of sponsors and supporters for the upcoming regional conference aimed at enhancing beliefs surrounding the Holy Eucharist among Pacific Northwest Catholics. The event will take place on May 16, 2026, in Bellevue, Washington, and promises to be a transformative occasion for attendees.
Among the initial sponsors are recognized organizations such as The St. Joseph Foundation, The Ferry Foundation, Napa Institute, St. Martin's University, EWTN, National Eucharistic Congress, Augustine Institute, and Sacred Heart Radio. Father Nicholas Wichert, who serves as the Ecclesiastical Advisor for ASCEND, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the support received, emphasizing how these partnerships will enrich the faith journey of participants.
"We are extremely grateful to be so blessed by the generous support of our initial partners. Their commitment to ASCEND will help create a unique opportunity for Catholics in the Pacific Northwest to be encouraged in their life of faith, grow in their love for the Lord present in the Eucharist and appreciate the beauty and joy of our faith," stated Father Wichert.
The inspiration behind ASCEND was sparked by the experiences of several Catholics from the Seattle area who attended the National Eucharistic Congress in Indianapolis back in 2024, which attracted around 60,000 participants. Jason Shanks, President of the National Eucharistic Congress, shared his thoughts, stating that the revival would see these attendees carry the momentum of their spiritual experiences back to their local communities.
"When 60,000 Catholics gathered in Indianapolis, we knew they would carry the flame of revival back to their local dioceses and parishes. In communion with the United States Bishops spearheading this ongoing movement, we are pleased to support this event and pray that the Eucharist continues to capture the hearts of those living in the Pacific Northwest," Shanks explained.
Adding to the spiritual significance of the event, Paul D. Etienne, Archbishop of Seattle, who will celebrate the Holy Mass on the concluding day, expressed his enthusiasm for the gathering.
"The Holy Spirit is working in the hearts of many to organize and hold the ASCEND Eucharistic Revival. I'm grateful to the ASCEND team for their hard work and I look forward to celebrating the Eucharist with all those who are present. ASCEND can inspire all of us to remember our hope is in Christ and our communion with his Real Presence in the Eucharist is the gift of his love for us and the source and summit of the Christian life," said Archbishop Etienne.
Renowned speakers, authors, and apologists like Chris Stefanick, Dr. Tim Gray, Dr. Andy and Sarah Swafford, and Deacon Charlie Echeverry are slated to present at the event. Music will also play a vital role, with the sacred music vocal group Floriani chanting during the Holy Mass and popular Catholic artist Marie Miller performing praise music throughout the day.
