Experience the Excitement of Capsule Toys at Tokyo Skytree This Summer

Discover the World of Capsule Toys at Tokyo Skytree

This summer, from July 19 to August 31, 2023, Tokyo Skytree is set to host a special capsule toy shop called 'TOYS SPOT PALO' on its first floor, known as SKYTREE SPACE. This pop-up store, organized by Aeon Fantasy Co., Ltd., will feature more than 400 gacha machines, making it a must-visit destination for toy enthusiasts of all ages.

Celebrating 60 Years of Gacha in Japan

The excitement doesn't stop there! In collaboration with Penny Co., Ltd. and Takara Tomy Arts, 'TOYS SPOT PALO' is part of the 'Gacha Japan 60th Anniversary Tour,' celebrating six decades of capsule toys since their introduction to Japan in 1965. This store will offer visitors a vibrant assortment of capsule toys and an exclusive event, 'Gacha Challenge!', on August 9 and 10, where participants can spin gacha machines against the clock for a chance to win fun prizes.

The highlight of this event includes a giant gacha machine, 'De-ka Gacha,' standing about two meters tall, promising a unique photo opportunity for all social media lovers. Visitors can also enjoy the 'Gacha Marche,' a wagon-shaped gacha sales stand featuring various toys to try out and cherish.

Get Ready to Spin and Win!

Do you have what it takes to become a 'Gacha-ranger'? The '60 Seconds Spin Challenge!' invites young challengers, particularly those elementary school-aged, to compete in spinning gacha machines within sixty seconds to see how many capsules they can get and what colors they score. Every participant will earn a 'Gacha-ranger Certification,' turning the challenge into an unforgettable experience.

Additionally, the store will showcase a large display mimicking the Penny truck that transported gacha products back in 1965, providing a nostalgic glimpse into the history of gacha toys in Japan. This historic vehicle will be on display from August 7 to August 31.

Explore the Gacha Evolution

As part of the exhibition, the store will also have a 'Gacha History Board,' which will take you through the evolution of gacha machines in Japan and highlight pivotal moments such as the introduction of gacha from the United States in 1965.

Visitors can find the 'TOYS SPOT PALO' location at 1-1-2 Oshiage, Sumida-ku, Tokyo, adjacent to the iconic Tokyo Skytree, open daily from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Please note that the store's hours align with those of Tokyo Skytree, and updates can be found on the official website.

This limited-time event not only offers a fair share of delightful unique capsule toys but also invites everyone to participate in the fun-filled activities that bring back the joy of childhood.

Don't Miss Out!

With the 60th anniversary of gacha kicking off from 'Gacha day' on February 17, 2025, expect many more exciting activities and celebrations dotted throughout the year.
