Asian Hall of Fame Hosts Destination Hawai'i
The Asian Hall of Fame (AHOF) is thrilled to host a media launch event titled
Destination Hawai'i on February 12, 2026, at Ben Bridge Timeworks. This event marks a significant milestone to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States. All proceeds from the event will directly support the
Pearl Harbor National Memorial and the AHOF's
Human Trafficking Rescue Program.
Event Details
The festivities will commence with a private shopping session starting at 6:00 PM, followed by the main event running from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Attendees are encouraged to dress in
Hawaiian business casual, and identification will be required at registration. A cocktail reception with catering by Panya Bistro & Bakery will provide refreshments throughout the evening.
The event will be emceed by
Annalisa Burgos, a renowned anchor from Hawai'i News Now. Distinguished guest
Rep. Jeanné Kapela will receive the
America 250 Award, honoring individuals who exemplify extraordinary civic service and embody the American spirit.
Additionally, AHOF Board Chair
Melinda Rogers will deliver a special address, and several board members including Keith Hamasaki, John Nicholas, Patty Soldo, Yi Zhang, Kimberly Vodang, and Jay Kim will be present to applaud the occasion. Attendees can also look forward to a performance by Grammy voting member
Maki Mae and
Camilla Shae, showcasing tracks from their upcoming album.
Over the past five years, dedicated sponsors who have contributed annually will be recognized with the
Sapphire Anniversary Award. Honorees from the Honolulu event include Ada Chan Wong, Jeff Long and Leah Long, Mary Knell, Noble Mario Taylor and Sue Ying Taylor, and Patty Soldo. New members, Dr. Jennifer Camota Luebke and Merryl Hamasaki, will also be introduced to the global council during the event.
AHOF President and CEO
Maki Hsieh expressed that the launch in Honolulu was inspired by leaders from California, Washington, New York, and Hawaii. She emphasized the crucial role of the
Human Trafficking Rescue Program, highlighting Hawaii's position as a significant source, destination, and transit hub for Pacific sex trafficking.
As a promoter of the
American Dream, AHOF has honored many prominent figures such as
Connie Chung,
Kristi Yamaguchi,
Margaret Cho,
Yao Ming, and
Bruce Lee. Last year, AHOF allocated a substantial
$1.2 million nationwide to impactful community initiatives and talent development, benefiting
177 researchers, scholars, and grant partners.
