Telycam Expands Its Offerings with New Explore Series PTZ Cameras
Telycam, a prominent player in the PTZ camera manufacturing sector, has recently launched the latest additions to its Explore series— the Explore 100, Explore 300, and Explore 500 models. Each aims to enhance broadcast and ProAV productions with significant new features and improvements that cater to high-end video production environments.
New Features and Enhancements
The new models are engineered to combine performance and adaptability, making them suitable for a variety of situations from corporate events to sports broadcasts. They utilize a 4/3” sensor, an impressive 20x optical zoom capability, and advanced hybrid auto-focus technology, which altogether ensure exceptional image clarity and smooth operation. These enhancements build on the legacy of their award-winning predecessors, ensuring high-quality output in various production settings.
The Explore 300 and Explore 500 offer robust features such as:
- - 20x optical zoom for detailed close-ups in diverse lighting conditions,
- - An OLPF (optical low-pass filter) lens to combat moiré effects during LED wall shoots,
- - A new Brushless DC motor and 3-axis synchronization, which significantly minimize mechanical jerkiness, creating fluid camera movements essential for delivering broadcast-quality visuals.
The Explore 100, a more budget-friendly entry point, incorporates a 1/1.8” sensor and provides a 30x optical zoom, ensuring accessible quality for those beginning in broadcast-grade PTZ footage capture.
Connectivity and Streaming Capabilities
Each of these new cameras provides a variety of output options to accommodate modern streaming needs. For instance, the Explore 300 supports video output at 4K resolution at 60 frames per second over HDMI or NDI® HX3, while also enabling 4K at 30 fps over USB-C and 1080p60 via 3G-SDI. On the other hand, the Explore 100 and 500 furnish additional output options such as NDI® High Bandwidth, 12G-SDI (with genlock), and SFP+ interfaces. Furthermore, all three models can stream directly using SRT, RTMP, and RTSP protocols while also having the capability to record on an SD card.
User-Friendly Interface
The revamped WebUI accompanying the new Explorers is fully optimized for mobile devices, which allows users to control the cameras remotely from smartphones or tablets conveniently. This interface also includes four Scene Presets, making it easier to manage and switch between different settings suitable for changing lighting conditions and environments. With numerous other enhancements aimed at improving user experience, Telycam is ensuring that its products can be operated seamlessly, regardless of the user's technical expertise.
Product Launch Timeline
The Explore 100, 300, and 500 are anticipated to become available to consumers by the third quarter of 2026. Remarkably, despite the notable improvements in performance and feature set, Telycam has managed to maintain the same MSRP as the original Explore series, promising significant value to customers without a price hike.
