International Jewellery Kobe 2026: Celebrating 30 Years of Jewelry Excellence in Japan

International Jewellery Kobe 2026: A Landmark Event in the Jewelry Industry

The International Jewellery Kobe (IJK) is gearing up for its highly anticipated 30th edition, scheduled to take place at the Kobe International Exhibition Hall from May 14 to 16, 2026. Recognized as the largest trade show for jewellery in Western Japan, IJK serves not only as a crucial marketplace but also as a bridge for connection among various stakeholders in the jewellery business including buyers, wholesalers, retailers, designers, and manufacturers.

Since its inception in 1997, IJK has played a pivotal role in revitalizing Kobe after the Great Hanshin–Awaji Earthquake, evolving to become a significant midyear destination for both the Japanese and wider Asian markets.

A Showcase of Scale and Variety

The 2026 edition of IJK is anticipated to attract around 14,000 visitors and feature 480 exhibitors, collectively showcasing an impressive array of approximately 890,000 jewelry items. The offerings will include fine jewellery, pearls, loose stones, and re-jewellery, along with diverse metals such as gold. The trade show is designed for swift decision-making and effective comparisons, ensuring that visitors can delve into the marketplace efficiently.

To enhance the experience for trade visitors, the exhibition floor is strategically arranged into distinct product zones. This setup allows individuals to plan their visits based on specific categories and purchasing objectives. Enthusiasts of finished jewellery and gemstones, as well as professionals seeking Japan's renowned pearl specialties, will find dedicated areas tailored to their interests. The focus on rejewellery and preowned luxury reflects a growing emphasis on sustainability within the industry, encouraging practices that promote circularity and value retention in jewellery.

Furthermore, sections dedicated to designers and artisans will ensure that retailers can discover unique pieces to differentiate their assortments, highlighting the continual innovation within the industry.

Part of the IJT Series

IJK is part of the IJT (International Jewellery Trade) Series, which consists of three major jewellery trade shows throughout the year—held in Tokyo in January, Kobe in May, and Yokohama in October. This series gathers industry professionals to facilitate insights and connections surrounding diamonds, gemstones, and pearl jewellery. For those unable to attend in Kobe, IJT also offers additional opportunities for engagement during the IJT AUTUMN 2026 and IJT 2027 events.

To maximize the experience, trade professionals and media representatives are invited to access the latest updates and detailed plans for the show online. This provides an avenue for prospective attendees to map out their visits to ensure they make the most of their three days in the vibrant city of Kobe.

As IJK 2026 prepares to showcase the very best of the jewellery business in Japan, it promises to be a critical gathering for networking, collaboration, and discovery in the world of fine jewelry. Join the celebration of craftsmanship, innovation, and connection this May in Kobe as the event commemorates its historic 30 years of excellence in the jewellery trade.
