Online Medical Support Initiated for Kumamoto Earthquake Victims in 2026

In the wake of the recent Kumamoto earthquake, which struck during the Reiwa 8 era, we extend our heartfelt condolences to all those affected. As of July 31, it was reported that 177 medical institutions across Kumamoto Prefecture experienced disruptions, such as power outages and water shortages. In response to this situation, Fast Doctor Inc. is introducing online medical support designed for individuals who are unable to seek in-person medical attention due to the aftermath of the earthquake, including hospital closures and evacuation conditions. This initiative, scheduled to launch on July 31, 2026, aims to improve healthcare accessibility for victims while allowing local medical institutions to concentrate on those requiring face-to-face consultations.

Target Audience

This support is extended to residents of Kumamoto Prefecture, helping them manage conditions and ongoing treatments that require medical advice during the crisis.

Services Offered

When utilizing online consultations, users typically incur a system usage fee ranging from ¥330 to ¥3,300, depending on the medical specialty. Fast Doctor will cover this fee to ease the burden on affected individuals. While online consultations will proceed under normal insurance protocols, patients may still face costs based on their age, income, etc. In exceptional circumstances where victims cannot present their national health insurance cards or qualification confirmation documents due to the disaster, they can still receive insurance-enacted medical services by providing their name, date of birth, and other personal information.

Consultations Available

The online support will cover various medical fields, including:
  • - Internal Medicine
  • - Pediatrics
  • - Respiratory Medicine
  • - Dermatology
  • - Lifestyle Diseases
  • - Psychiatry and Child Psychiatry

Example Symptoms or Concerns

Important Notes
